we reviving this, oh baby oh baby, and yea so far the only issue ive found with this in Vox Populi is landships are invisible and i think light tanks have the wrong models, please go on with this is awesomefudge it, I'm continuing this mod

Hey N.Core! Did you ever get around to figuring out how to optimize ethnic units? XD I'd imagine it happened to be too byzantine and way too much of a hassle for you to figure out.Okay, good news is I already set aside all projects and start on reworking the code.
The bad news is it will take a ton of time, since I plan to make it modular.
My plan is you can add any ethnic unit you want. I will make a template for it, so people can easily add their own ethnic unit without opening up the core files. This means it requires manual code writing.
Also make it per-unit, all individual SQL stuff will be on a folder for each unit. So then if you don't want that unit to be loaded to the game, then you can just delete the folder.
Don't worry, don't spare your money because I don't accept any donations. Since this mod is not originally mine, and it's not in any rights for me to take any financial benefits from it.
There seems to be something wrong with the Lancer. I play as England, and when I attempt to upgrade a Knight, the game crashes instantly.
I tried disabling this mod and could upgrade just fine, so I reckon the problem lies here.
I really like this mod but there are few things that ruin my immersion:
-Spawning lancers would sometimes crash my game
Hello. I really like your mod, but I get constant crashes to my desktop with this mod, with no error messages, every time I get to or close to a new era of gunpowder, when muskets, cannons, etc. appear. I've tried playing with the VP mod, I've tried playing vanilla. Of the mods used, only maps YnAEMP.
I played for Russia, by the way, for some reason they have invisible guns, I also played for Japan, China, Maya. For all such sorties, it is impossible to continue the game, but when you turn off your mod, you can continue and go through the moves where it crashed, but then it is already impossible to continue playing with your mod.
I totally agree. I love VP more than Civ 6 by a long shot. The only reason I am n9t ppaying VP is because I know the current state of ethnic units crashes the game after enlightenment.
Anybody who fixes this would be my hero.
This mod is the only reason I've reinstalled Civ 5. But it's impossible to play after Gunpowder tech. I have the Lancer CTD too, and I tried to continue without the bigger of three mods: it works, but without ethnic graphic... So sad.
Any news about a fix? I don't ask anything more. No upgrade, no new restyling. I hope only for a fix of this version. Thank u all anyway!
Anyone know the reason behind the CTDs mid-game using this mod? I have all the graphics options set as shown in the OP, but it always crashes. I tried commenting out all the lines related to lancers but I still get CTDs no matter what and they disappear when I turn off the mod. The crashes happen on Ethiopia's turn, but before I've had problems with other civs.

It's with metallurgy and the Lancer model. I don't know enough about modding, but using IGE4 to debug, once Russia researches Metallurgy, any user interaction which forces a Russian Lancer to be rendered (IGE change of civ to Russia or map peek, or even turn processing) causes CTD.

Same problem. I changed model of this Landship to same model from VoxPopuli mod, it works fine. I will attach file with fix to this post.I didn't have any bugs or crashes, yer incredibly awesome mod works wonderfully for me! But, I was wondering if you would consider looking into these things:

I also faced the CTD problem, so i spent quite some time to figure out what happened.
Easy answer is i didn't use "Dolen2's Ethnic Diversity Unit Pack for Mods for VP (v 1)" part of the mod, because i didn't play with any other major mod except VP and this one. But it turned out that this part is crucial even if you play pure VP, it contains Compatibility folder for VoxPopuli itself with unit models for VP and important additions in .modinfo file. Very unintuitive, but it is what it is. So just turn this part on

Ten civilizations uses this model, so sooner or later some of this civs will get to Lancer and game will crash.

Also i play VoxPopuli 4.15 and it have big changes to tanks, in vanila base tank model were T-34 and Panzer were unique unit, but from some point Panzer became base unit and T-34 now reward for one of the tenets. So all tanks in Ethnic Diversity mod became the same and all T-34 reward tank different. I fixed that by correcting some lines in "1-JEDUnitGraphicConfig.sql" I will attach file with this changes to this post, but maybe it not needed to earlier versions of VP mod.
Thats all for nowI also encountered a problem with some missing animations on Mobile SAM model, but didn't dig it yet.

There is crash because of Lancer unit model, it appears around Renaissance era. I play with Vox Populi v.4.16, downloaded a month ago, with Dolen's mod and a few others. I don't know why, I get to the Renaissance and it promptly crashes on specific points. I reload: sometimes it proceeds, sometimes it stops a couple of turns later. I have played at least 10 games like this. I'm exhausted. Sometimes I have modified xml or lua files, but only simple parameters. Nothing much in short. Is the problem, in your opinion, Dolen's mod or Vox Populi? I am really exhausted. Am I just wasting my time? Here my log folder. If someone could tell me what is wrong, I really apreciate it. Thanks.

You need all 3 mods. When i started to play with this mod i turned on only 2, because i thought 3rd needed only for other mods compatibility, but it turned out that for smooth gameplay you always need all 3.Yes, sure.
