[BTS]LateGameMOD

:) nice...i noticed that myself that the barbs are tooooooooooo strong...this will definitly be solved in the next version. EPIC mod () -- i like the choice. but one question: 2 longbowman against an army of 10 hm, 7 catas and 7 lm....huuh....i dont believe that. i won with that army against these 2 defenders....perhaps these longbowmen were highly promoted terminators....:scan:

cheers

yea they had 3 promotions 10% strength and 2 city defender promos
and yea i sent that many there was 7 longbowmen though not 2 i should of still won!! i had 7 hm and 7 catas thats it what happend was i could see there was only 2 LB in the city so i moved the army next to it and on next turn there was 7 longbowmen in the city

its 1720 and leningrad has 20 musket men and 9 spearmen in it

well i went back in time lol i used a previous save and i used the army that was gonna invade the barbarians. they got owned by the barbarians so instead i had them invade italy i walked right through italy smashing them and then into iraq and smashed them.... yes the barbarians r way to strong

and russia was very weak france took over russia in 1400s

im currently in year 1696 and all is well so far...

again thx, nudden

roger that ill keep sending feed back and ur mod is really fun just took a while to start off

OK, i think i may be having a special moment. But when i run the game i'm unable to found a city with a settler? What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

any eta on 1.09?

Minor issue is with the installer, it says 'requires 3.17'

One minor complaint about the map, that being that even though the city 'centers' are accurate in their position, putting the French without access to a port (As an example) means no French Navy. I think I'd have prefered a little creative jostling of the map to be able to access the sea.

Hi nudden.

I have a question about naval units.

other civ's naval units always have upgrade combat I (strangh +10%).

I don't know what should I do for it?

I used that Great general join the city.

because I knew that If the Great general join the city then my all units can have experience.

But my naval units can't have upgrade strangh +10%.

my units always have gunnery control.

Is there other method except battle?

and I have a one more question about the clockwork in technologue.

There is that First to Discover Receives a Great Engineer.

But when I was first a discoverer of the clockwork I can't receives a Great Engineer.

so I checked other civ's technologue.

But There wasn't the clockwork.

Why can't I have a Great Engineer?

I've got to say I have been playing the heck out of this mod/map.

This 'feels' like the Civilization IV game I've been wanting. It seems very balanced. The AI doesn't blitzkrieg, infact they often seem to like the status quo. Carving out Giant world spanning empires often leads to decline and the AI seems to be biding it's time rather than over-expanding. The fact that there is no colonization adds another interesting level to the game.

The strategic considerations involved in it are really fascinating. You've done an outstanding job imho of also giving that organic feel to the way the world may develop.

A great general doesnt give experience bonus anymore (but +4 GP for a great spy) because in my opinion it was toooo strong. so the only way is to build a shipyard and a drydock which both give +1XP. Additionaly, england have a national wonder (trafalgar square) which give them +4 XP for naval units. so for you and the other nations the only way to get the combat I promotion is combat.

You didn't check the barbarians techs. in this version they are a way too fast in the technology tree. so i expect that you werent the first. but this problem will be solved!

cheers

no. as I said, not much time at the moment. perhaps a small update with some minor tweaks (like the barbs strength for example) until september.

already noticed in post #1. anyway thx.

Oh excellent. I am looking forward to it. How do you feel about tweaking it so France can start with a port other than Algiers? They just strike me as one of the early naval super powers.

I was originally playing the game with the intent to pursue the status quo and just see who could build up the fastest. What I found though was I would quickly produce a ton of cheap units and my choice was either to;

A) Hang on to them and gimp my economy
B) delete them as I build them
C) Conquer

I chose C and quickly took Berlin and Rome. Then Rome became my port of choice.

I am finding money is the only reason not to go on all out killing conquest across euroupe. I take one city and then wait a while for things to settle down and take another.

I like the thing you did with the Great General BTW. I thought it was more to force us down the path of using it as a great leader in the field instead of a Trainer who develops new traditions.

Here is one other thought;
Have you considered being able to build wealth from the start of the game?

The reason I ask this is that it is very easy to over-extend your empire and I would think the AI may decide to build a "killer stack" of units and then having nothing to do with it, go conquer, except unlike a player they may choose a city that will be a drain on their economy in the long run.

Thank you for this mod, there is something very different about it imho, that adds a lot of strategic depth.

well its 1700 and france has a huge!! i mean huge navy so i think there 1 port is fine they have like 30 ships in the noth and west parts of affrica... giving them another port would make them to strong....

and yea the barbarians discover everything 1st theres no way to beat them in discovering things 1st..

In mine, I am up to 1492. I really like it, because without slavery for the AI to spam armies, they don't seem to have unlimited troops like in some mods.

France has one carrack, because I am france.

We start with a port city in algiers, but historically that isn't where they built their ships. So just making it so france can compete with england ship wise would be awesome.

The spanish for instance can have no 'armada'.

In mine they have more than UK france easily took libya and morroco sot hey have 3 cities to build which is plenty....

i think there might be a bug with corporations im 700 points ahead of anyone and as far as i know im the most advanced but i cant build mining inc unless somehow the barbs have it??
and i know it shows it as a world wonder so i made sure to be a city with no wonders and still cant build it....

i just checked corporation advisor none are founded soo theres something wrong....

Nudden,

I know you have limited time, but have you ever considered a few other scenarios for this mod? It's wonderful. I absolutely love it, but I want "moar".

I am finding myself getting MAFs at various times because I suspect that the big map (once it gets revealed) is causing a memory leak.

Here are a couple idea/suggestions.

1-"Theater Scenario". I could very much get into a 7-9 country scenario on a smaller map representing Asia, Euroupe or America. Basically take the features of the one map and focus on a smaller area.

2-1000 AD. This map begs for a later game start. After all it's "Late Game Mod". One possibile way to bring balance to the barbarians is also to start the player later in the game comparable to the barbs.

3-1960 AD. (As above)

I will be honored to create a scenario for inclusion in this mod if you would prefer. Just let me know which you think would have more utility. I've begun doing that for my own use, but I am still just tinkering with the editor. To me, the smaller map would be most useful simply because even with a power-horse computer I get MAFs. Granted, not frequent enough to quit playing, but alarming that they are more frequent as the game world continues to open up or on the off chance I hit world builder and reveal everything as I was studying your mod and the starting positions.

i love the world map not enuff of these!!!
i do agree with point 2 the 1st few thousand years were boring

i dont crash i did at 500bc or something but after a few reloads it was fine and has run fine u need alot of ram for the world maps i got 4 gb of 1066mhz

The first few thousand years were not boring to me. I was surprised I was able to expand rapidly and a little worried about over-expansion. I limited myself to Rome and Berlin, then later took Poland and Hungary.

The AI seems to dogpile on the weakest player every now and then, but I keep waiting for that dog pile because I am way out in front of everyone else at some point.

well was a lil boring for me to start cuz u cant build anything and u have to keep delete ur armies u cant take cities for a while but once u can conquer cities it gets good
