[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

P.S.
I'm really lazy this week...

What/where are there any good Mexican LHs?

There's Lazaro Cardenas and Miguel Hidalgo.

Although I'd rather see somebody like Pancho Villa or Emiliano Zapata, or Santa Ana!

Yeah... if I add a Mexican Leader, I'd really like to see Santa Anna... the Napoleon of the West!

LOL! Arrrrriba! @ "Mexico it is"

In my module I have Santa Anna (using Ekmek's Simon Bolivar) and Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. If you want the Santa Anna to look more like him I could attempt to do it, it would require adding a sash and a bunch of medals but I think I can pull that off if you really want me to try.

Please do not use Lazaro Cardenas, that LH doesn't look a thing like him.

If you want to PM me about it I'm at MSN DiploCapo@live.com, I think that's what it is.

I'm tempted to use Jose San Martin from Colonization straight-up as Santa Anna.

Having said that, I think he could be tweaked as Santa Anna with little effort by someone with some skills. The uniform is certainly almost on the mark (maybe some minor color changes).

Well the uniform needs some red and some laurel leaves on it. And the sash should be the tricolored sash that he often wore. I'll throw together what I had in mind for you, I might as well since I have a module anyway and I don't want your Santa Anna to be better than mine!

Now you're talking!

Now, this is going to take me quite a bit of time to do mind you. I just learned how to do leaderheads, literally last week, so don't expect anything too quick. I still haven't really got the hang of skinning yet either and I am in the middle of finishing another leaderhead right now so when that is finished I'll start working on Santa Anna.

What? You're not done with Santa Anna yet?!?!?

This is a Civ4 problem....Civ4 eventually robs you of all your memory. The only really good solution is to get more memory, although if you lurk the forums enough there are some fixes you can try.

I get slammed with this alot too, late game. which sucks because most of my game is played in the late game (I spend the first several thousand years building up cities and devoting to techs....I only look to conquest once I have at least Riflemen usually Infantry.)

I don't believe this to be a Civ problem in general, but rather related to something wrong with the mod. I've never gotten this error so much before this single game I'm playing now, regardless of whether I'm using a mod and which one it is. I can post the save game if its necessary. I have played another Wolfshanze game (I believe with the version immediately previous to the one released now) through to about the 1930s era. It had the occasional CTD for no apparent reason as well, but not the "failed to allocate video memory" error.

Hi all, To the Yankee folks who support this mod Happy Thanksgiving :D and to Wolfie keep up the good stuff.

PS Have you noticed De Gaulle keeps surrendering to people Strange he seems to loose 1 city and capitulates :dunno:

Noticed indeed. Once in my game, he was second in score, lost two cities, remaining as third, and capitulates to now second, Tokugawa.

Why did you even ask in the first place, then... :mischief:
I haven't even decided... I just thought it would be funny to say "Mexico" after everyone says "Aztecs".

It's literally nothing more then a simple name change... may or may-not do it... but probably leave it as-is. :dunno:

Just a point; had the Aztecs never been conquered and survived to this day I am quite sure the country would still be called Mexico or at least Mexica. Just a thought though.

Now for something completely different. I think it would be cool if the Romans became more Italian in the Middle Ages and later. In other words make their rifleman look more like a an Italian soldier of the 1850's rather than this wierd almost sci fi looking guy now with the crest on his head. Another example would be the Roman pikeman, instead of the current one I think the "landsknecht" pikeman as used by the Dutch and Austrians would be better IMHO. In other words just as the Aztecs morph into Mexicans, I would like the Romans to morph into Italians.

Well, they already do, they just do it later in the tech tree (for instance, all of Rome's WWI and WWII equipment is Italian). :dunno:

They do in the late industrial units, but it would make sense to move it back a little more. There has to be a more realistic grenadier then the current legionary armored grenade tosser, who just looks weird. I think a more italian redshirt look would make more sense.

Been working on Santa Anna for the Wolfshanze Mod... I have all the XML work done, Jose San Martin artwork as a LH stand-in until someone comes-out with a better Santa Anna (which may-well be before my next release anyways), and I just scored the soundtrack to the film "Alamo", which I can use for Diplomacy music for Santa Anna.
