[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

Oh hey! Ya know what works well with this mod. Load a earth map (none cultural starting locations one) and Advanced Start in to the Industrial Ages. I played about ten games like this never got bored.

Wolf:

It happened before discovering industrial techs; I can recall communism and fascism. The read me file says 2.68. Anyway, I'll re-download and reinstall the mod. I'll let you know if anything changes.

I am playing as the Americans using the world map with 34 civs. I am using the latest version.

The year is 1645 and I am now getting continual crashes. The save file is 1,718 KB. I think the file is too big.

Here is my system:

Processor: Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz
Memory: 2 GB ram
Graphics card: ATI Radeon 9800 XT AGT 256 MB ram

Just so you know once the savegame hits over sg like 1,600 Kb you are about to see memory allocation errors. You can search this site for some solutions, though I never tried them myself...

The game will always crash when it is processing the turn, I tried changing various settings to no avail and my brother also told me that this mod version kept crashing on him (while 2.2x worked fine).

Ditto for me as well. My first game was with the Americans and I had no problems. Next was with the Germans. I got through the ancient era just fine but then the crashes came and kept coming. They would always take place when processing a turn. Even more annoying was the fact that the crash isn't your typical CTD but rather the game just stops. ALT Tab out and you find a error message stating the program encountered an error. I have 3 options, full dump, normal dump, no dump. With regards to the German game, I started to save EVERY single turn and if it locked up, I'd restart the previous turn. I found that I could continue on in my game if I did this and I was eventually able to finish the game, after some nearly 300 saves. The file sizes obviously got larger as the game progressed.

The other day I decided to start another game as the Germans but that got so bad with crashes (to the point that I could never get past a turn) that I gave up. I started a new game as the French and proceeded nicely all the way up to just about the early point of the Industrial age (about to research steam power) when the latest crash has stopped my game. Thinking my problem was the German civilization, I wiped them out with barbarians and then tried to process the turn...but to no avail. I end my turn, the game starts to process, then it stops. No sounds, no flashing 'waiting for other civilizations', nothing. I've attached my save game and at this point have deleted all MODS from my system. Don't know what else to do at this point. I love all the new units in this MOD but can't play it like this.

Try it without the 34-civ DLL. It's the only way I play. I've found the 34-civ DLL (which, by the way, was not written by Wolfshanze, he just includes it with his mod) to be buggy and causes crashes.

All you have to do is delete the DLL from your Wolfshanze mod folder. The game will then use the DLL you have in your BtS folder. If you're using Bhruic's then you'll be in good shape.

Plus, this might identify whether your problems are being caused by the DLL or by the new units.

There is no solution.

I might also recomend this to those that are having problems... weird, because I'm able to play full games without crashes... of course, if you delete/remove the 34-civ Gamecore.DLL you will not be able to play with more then 18 civs and/or the included 34-civ Earth maps.... but if you just enjoy the mod itself, you can play up-to the default 18-civs without the DLL (this may solve some problems).

I reiterate, I'm playing games all the way through without crashes, so it's hard for me to figure out what's going on here.

Hi! Just stumbled across this, looks fascinating, gonna give it a whirl - quick question. I like the BUG mod warnings, since I tend to forget everything -- would it be as easy as installing this to a Wolfshanze folder, and then dropping the Custom Assets stuff from BUG into this?

The BUG mod can be used with the Wolfshanze mod. Might be best to put the BUG mod stuff in custom assets and leave the Wolfshanze mod in it's own folder.

Yeah I dunno what it is. Your mod causes me crashes, quite a few of them. As soon as I stopped using it the crashes stopped. I have not touched your mod in any way, and I tried a different and no custom .dll. I don't know what to tell you, and this is on XP.

Whenever I go to start a gme with your mod (as in, i already picked my civ and everything), the game crashes before I ever start to play. I have never had a problem with Civ 4 before, even with my Vista. Do you know what I should do? I unzipped the file to my MODS folder, that's the correct thing to do, right? If you can please give me some advice, it's a great mod and I'd really like to use it.

I've tried this Mod a couple of times and really enjoy playing it however i tried to play on the PerfectWorld map that comes with the mod but My PC locked up at Initialising the map. Now either i'm not as patient as i used to be and it takes a while to load this map or i have a problem! please help.

My PC uses XP so i know it's not a Vista problem

The PerfectWorld Mapscript takes a LOOOONG time to load (initially)... once the world is created loading saved games takes the usual amount of time, but a larger map using PerfectWorld's mapscript does take some time to create (also depending on system specs).

If you don't have the patience for the map to be created on initial setup, I might recomend using the "NewWorld" mapscript also included with the Wolfshanze Mod... it's about as good, and is much quicker at creating worlds (and much better then the default map script).

I like the Fractal map, myself.

I have to be honest. I thought your wolf avatar was a pig for a moment.
