[BtS MOD] Wolfshanze 1850-1920 Enhancement Mod v2.0

If you want to play with the BUG mod you could use the WolfRevolution mod in my sig, just disable all the Revolution options when you start a custom game. You can't disable IDW though, but I really think that's a non issue, as IDW improves gameplay alot.

Just for a change of pace, how do you get the BUG mod to work properly in the wolfhanze mod, I have BUG installed as a custom asset but not all the features work in the Wolfhanze mod. Any ideas?
Copy the BUG files from Custom Assets to the Wolfshanze Mod Folder. I'm running BUG with Wolfshanze mod and it works fine together. If you do not do this and try to run a Wollfshanze mod game with BUG in Customs Assets you'll probably get a 'No Interface'-error (showing the world but no game interface).

Hi -I've been enjoying Wolfshanze's mod and I don't want to ever play a campaign without it.

I'd like to try the new "culturally linked starting postions" mod. How can I play this mod with Wolfshanze's mod? Thanks in adavnce

I have that in Merged Mod, which is heavily based off of Wolfs mod. You could try that, if you'd like. ;)

I followed the instructions and unzipped the file into the designated folder.

I went to advanced and chose the mod.

The game restarted as normal but when I went to choose the different leaders, I couldn't see them there.

I suppose you can't explain things more simply than you already have, but if there is something else I can do I really want to make this work.

Also, what is the process for adding your units to my games?

Sorry, I should have asked this earlier, but what are your system specs?

What OS are you using, what video card, how much system memory, etc... are your video drivers up-to-date? Sometimes something as simple as updating your video drivers can fix a problem like that.

Also, did you see the Wolfshanze Mod intro screen when it restarted? Be as specific as you can be describing the problem... either myself or someone else should be able to pin it down for you.

this is exactly the problem i'm having

i have a ATI Radion Xpress 200 video card and 1.5GB RAM, i havent had any problems running BTS.

As described the mod shows up in the advanced 'load a mod' screen and the initilization screens show as being the mod but when fully loaded i get the normal blue marble screen and no units etc.

any suggestions would be helpful

Sorry. I'm technically inept so I don't even know what would be useful info for you.

OS: Windows XP

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE

System Memory: 2GB

When it loads the mod it is the regular screen just as if I had started BTS by itself.

That tells me right there, you've done something wrong on your end.

When you load the mod, you should see this as the main screen:

Spoiler :
WolfMenu.png

There should be no-mistaking if the mod loaded correctly with the main menu screen above.

Did you:
A) Unzip the mod (with folders intact) into your Program Files/Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods folder?
B) Start BtS normally, then go to "Advanced" and select "Load Mod" and choose the "Wolfshanze Mod".
C) Did the game then restart? At that point, you should see the main wolfshanze mod splash screen as seen above.

Also, when's the last time you updated your video card drivers? You can go to NVidia.com and download the latest (WinXP) reference drivers for your video card there... sometimes that helps.

I'm actually having this same exact problem. I'm *SURE* it's nothing on my end.......i've installed this mod many many many times though the various releases.

This one is.....broken, somehow.

I've tried reinstalling BTS even, every single time what happens is the normal "Blue marble" screen comes on and says "Wolfshanze" up in the right corner. If you look into the 'pedia, NO graphics show up. You can the pedia entries for everything, but there is no unit art. You can set up a game but when when it tries to load, it crashes. It does NOT give an error message.

There is clearly something screwy with the mod itself. BTS knows it's loaded, but it's not getting the art.

I'm on Windows Vista Ultimate, Intel Quad-Core 2.4ghz, 2gb RAM, Geforce8800. All the previous versions of the mod work just fine, and I tested it again with the previous release and that DOES work.

That's odd, sounds alot like the graphics problem that was happening with the original install of CIV. Try unpacking the wolfshanze.fpk file using the pakbuild application, and see if that works. If I remember right, you have have to delete the Interface folder that unpacks if you do it that way. I had to do this with CIV until BTS came out (with CIV it wasn't wolshanze.fpk obviousl, it was the art0.fpk file). Though BTS fixed this for me, so I'm not sure why this problem with re-emerge with the wolf mod. Not sure it will work, but it's worth trying.

I did step (A) again twice

I did (B) again as specified

The game restarted but not with the cool intro screen. It was just the regular BTS screen again. It has an option to unload the mod so it's doing something.

I updated drivers as you suggested, loaded the file again and followed all instructions again, and it did the same thing.

Help! I want to use this mod! It looks freakin' nice!

some of this might be resolvable by deleting the cache data [BEFORE EVERY GAME] located in your folder under the path:

<Drive Name>/ Documents and Settings/ <User Name>/ Local Settings/ Application Data/ My Games/ Beyond the Sword/ cache

and/or in <Drive Name>/ Documents and Settings/ <User Name>/ Application Data/ My Games/ Beyond the Sword/ cache

[sorry if i am repeating a previously made suggestion]

i have read many occurences where this bugger messes up CUSTOMASSETS, Mods in general, BTS crashing in general... there are a lot of factors like the NVIDIA drivers, but this one seems to be an easy fix on many, even though there is no Firaxis documentation to inform anybody- good thing community forums exist, full of unhappy customers (as Firaxis pumps out another product).. ironically i couldn't play BTS out of the box because of the instability... i had to not use it for 6 months until enough poor schmucks figured this stuff out, in order to get this one game to work... heh and nowadays i am such a glutton for punishment that i try and play Wolfshanze with 39 civs and a huge map just to push my luck on getting it to crash ;) STILL, better than vanilla crash-tastic

ps - don't underestimate the 2nd location if you've done the cache deleting in one- there are 2 and thus still a possibility for instability if you haven't done both.

He might have an old version of the mod sitting around somewhere, or even a different mod. Likely locations are in the \My Documents\ location for an old version of the mod, or perhaps he's got stuff in his \CustomAssets\ folder.

Stuff in Custom Assets doesn't matter. I have Bluemarble and (not working) Bug sitting in my CA, but that doesn't influence Wolfs-mod. Video driver update could resolve graphical issues, but it sounds like installation issues. I'm sure installation went right like ladiesman said. Maybe the download is corrupted somehow? When was the last update? I haven't updated in a while. Frontpage shows v2.84 as the newest, which is the one I am using since Sept. 19. Without any problems..... Could be a fault on the download-servers, could be a fault with an update if there has been any since september 19.
Also old versions of the mod could cause mods to malfunction. Remove old mod folder before reinstalling updated wolfshanze mod; perhaps that will work. As ladiesman pointed out, previous versions of the mod and other mods worked fine, so I assume the Civ.ini settings are correct, so no bother looking into those.
Good luck!

I've been getting a crash to desktop every 3 or 4 turns. Just before it crashes a Civ4 window appears which reads:

fatal error: memory allocation problem
reason: bad memory allocation

Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance

That's a new one, and certainly not happening on this end.

Care to give me a full run-down of your system specs (CPU, System Memory, Video Card, video driver version, OS, etc), what game options you are running (game resolution, graphics settings of game, size of map and number of civs), and perhaps any "common denominator" when the crash occurs... ie: what are you doing in/with the game when the crash occurs... then maybe I can give some advice to help solve the problem.

You're overloading your ram. You must be getting ungodly lag to get that error. How long does it pause between turns?

Anyway the only solution is to upgrade your system or play smaller maps.
