I'm in and i got my copy of BTS today:D
tournament is fine by me

Actually the Dutch have it also, but there is a problem, not with BTS, but the patches that come with is, since they are not backwards compatible for Warlords and Vanilla. So I was unfortunately correct that we need to wait for a patch, or patchees before we play.

why do we need to wait for a patch? ... This will be a BtS game and the new patches for Vanilla and Warlords can be just released to the public (most likely Monday) to patch Nilla and Warlords.

One thing we're absolutely waiting on is for me to get the game (presumably Tuesday), so the patch situation might clear itself up by then anyway. (I hope, I hope, I hope...)

As you can probs telll by my lack of posting at the moment, I have BTS!:D Am ready for pitboss when you are:goodjob:

I consider myself a builder but my history of killing someone very early in the game doesn't seem to agree with that. :(

 Well sometimes you need to kill someone so you can peacefully build

I'm a builder and suck at warmongering, or else I'd join. Is there someway for us lurkers to watch? I have no experience with pitboss, so don't know.
Exactly why I say we don't start with automatic war, to give players like me and Methos a chance!

That I know of, there's no way to watch, other than following the civstats.com score, which probably wouldn't be very exciting. Anyway Davo has acquitted himself well in the multiplayer games so far, so I'd say join up and have at it.

You do realize that the "always war" setting effectively just precludes resource/tech/gp trading and unit/city gifting between players, right?

Always War forces the strategy to be a beeline to the metals/archery/horses, or you will be killed. Without AW people aren't forced to be aggresive which makes the early tactics much more varied.

I know you (probably :mischief: ) didn't intend it this way, but my first thought reading this was: "oh hell yeah that way you and I can beeline to the metals and horses and acquire the cities of people that are using varied non-aggressive early tactics."

You might have friendly neighbours, or might offer to give free things or.. uh... umm...... get killed.

(I'm just digging my hole deeper and deeper...)

Mr Dude,
Coutn me in. I'm undecided about tourney or not. Whatever the majority wants!
