He's wearing his helmet, in the other one it was just on his head. He looks like a homeless guy with it on. :vomit:

That's kinda funny...when I first saw the screenshot of Pericles with his helmet up, I immediately hoped that he might sometimes have it down!

Other pics:
1) One showing how resources can be red now;
2) another showing Sitting Bulls units (geesh, attacking walled, drill I, city garrison 3 archers all the time);
3) in the bottom left, shows the war wariness value! I think it's your enemies WW.

Something else I'll note with espionage: you can incite a one turn revolt. It may not look like much, but it actually means that the city has no defenses for one turn. So, approach city, incite revolt (expensive), attack city with 0% defenses for that turn :) Cool.

To that person who was interested in whether to focus the espionage points or distribute them over many rivals: I found that when going to war, you spend a lot of EP's on missions and having a high rate focused on that opponent is useful for replenishing the EP's. Also, when you use up points, your passive espionage ability for that leader diminishes too (if the remaining amount of EP's left is below the required amount for that passive ability).

The espionage system is really, really interesting as to how it plays out. You guys are going to love it :)

Given the monument/Stonehenge expiry has been advanced from Calendar to Astronomy, can you tell if Stonehenge has been tweaked in BTS (for example its cost to build or its cultural output)? Some folk in another thread are wondering about game balance...

Thank you!

I hope they didn't tweak anything, Dutch Canuck. The choice of whether or not to put off Calendar doesn't really add much strategic depth, on the whole. It's mostly just annoying. And, I don't think having Stonehenge/monuments + plantations will be particularly overpowered.

It will boost the charismatic trait quite a bit, though.

Ah, this is true...of course, by the time you hit even Calendar, Stonehenge and monuments help, but they ain't really gonna cut it in the larger cities.

At that time my larger cities are generally between 10 and 15 (depending on how much I've whipped). An extra population is still a significant addition (in the worst case, just think of it as a free specialist)

True, but if you're still reliant on them by Astronomy, even with the extra +1, that's not good.

Anyway, you're right, it definitely extends an early advantage of being charismatic, and shortens the period during which that advantage is unavailable.

You can save a bunch of great scientists. Once you hit astronomy (assuming you already have printing press) you can just bulb your way straight up to radio. Then build the eiffel tower and you're good as gold.

(Yes, I've done it. Pacifism is king. Wasn't charistmatic in that game though)

[EDIT] But if I remember correctly, theres a risk of getting Fission on the lightbulb path. It happens sometimes, but I can't recall the exact circumstances. Maybe Radio still has to be manually researched or bulbed with a GA.

Those archers don't look very Native American. While this is only a small problem with what I'm sure (when I finally get it) is a great expansion, it seems they've only done half a job making the units ethnically diverse...

hmm, interesting.
this pic says the stealth destroyer can see other stealth ships but it doesn't say it can see subs:

can some1 plz try this in the worldbuilder if the stealth destroyer can see enemy submarines?

i'm happy if not - that means the destroyer isn't obsolete after researching stealth

Some more shots of leaderheads:

- Suryavarman's complexion looks more healthy.
- Hammurabi's background's been changed from the Hanging Gardens.
- Justinian's animation is a bit more lively than shown on the BtS site.
