Bug Report

We could have a separate post on this issue.
There is even a comment during the load screen that says it will be fixed by alt-tabbing out and back in, which hasn't worked for me yet.

To note, I have a Nvidia Video card (GTX650) and my friend with the same motherboard has a Raydeon video card. He's never had this issue yet. So, it could be a card or video driver issue.
Game version: BTS 3.17,
RI version: I don't know where to find this info. I downloaded it roughly 3 months ago.

I've tried reloading the game, running Ccleaner then reloading, rebooting the computer, then reloading. It can take over a hour sometimes for it to suddenly work. Which seriously delays mp games. So, I'd love to learn a solution too. TY.

I'm playing a game on 3.25 where I've just discovered Shipyards, and two of my coastal cities can't build shipyards (or ships). These cities are definitely on the coast (one has clams in the city radius, and both have already built harbors, lighthouses, etc.). In fact, one of the cities is my capital, and has the Colossus and the Great Lighthouse.

I have about a dozen saved games going right back to 4000BC (currently 1088AD). Neither city has ever been able to build ships (except for work boats).

The only odd thing I've noticed which might be causing the problem is that the affected cities are on fairly small seas instead of the world ocean. However, I've placed other cities in such a way as to provide routes for ships to get out of the seas and into the ocean.

Game engine considers "sea" for the purpose of shipbuilding to be any body of non-fresh water more than X (don't remember exact number) tiles in area. Certain random map generators can generate bodies of non-fresh water (coast tiles instead of fresh water lakes) less than that - and while cities built near those are considered coastal, they aren't considered eligible to build ships. At least that's my guess.

This is the R-I Planet Generator, and the seas in question have 11 and 12 tiles. Is there an option somewhere in the XML files where I can lower this threshold? It's a bit annoying.

I checked the entry, and if you are right about the lake size in your case, then my guess was wrong, since maximum lake size is set to 9. Then it might be some other peculiarity of game engine - and then there is unfortunately nothing I can suggest as it seems to me to be outside of anything that can be fixed by modding (basically, an engine limitation).

I thought about this for a bit, and realized it didn't make sense: I was able to build fishing dock, lighthouse, and harbor, why not shipyard? So I checked CIV4BuildingInfos.xml and compared the definition of fishing dock to shipyard. There's a property called <iMinAreaSize> that is 10 for fishing docks, but 20 for shipyards. Setting it to 10 allowed my two cities to build shipyards. Setting it to 12 allowed one city to build it but not the other. I also set industrial shipyard and drydock to 10 from 20.

Checking TR_Naval_CIV4UnitInfos.xml reveals that ships also have the <iMinAreaSize> property, with workboats set to -1 and everything else (to the limits of my patience) set to 20.

Thanks! I frankly didn't know that. Will set those to 8, since that's the maximum lake size.

On 3.25, I just had a source of Natural Gas show up on a forest. When I tried to build a natural gas well there using the shortcut (Shift-W) my worker instead built a slash and burn farm.

Also, the latitude limit on Seaside Resorts doesn't seem to be working right. I'm able to build them in cities right next to the polar caps.

Not a BUG but the abbreviated trait description for Militaristic still shows agg for aggressive at the leader selection screen at the start of a custom game.

Hey love the mod but every game I try to play ends up looking like this :( / windows 10, steam version of the game. No other errors... I am using an Nvida GTX680 card... I got like 16 gigs of ram, again 0 issues in the last build of the mod and all other mods / factory version game work fine no tile issues.

I installed it the same way I installed the last one as far as I know. Did not have any issues with download or installation. It runs fine.... just no terrain :( I am going to try and clean install of the game and re-download mod.

EDIT: What do you mean by cleaning out custom assets folder?

After reinstalling, still same issue :(
