Bug reports and technical issues

I'm now 90% certain that it's the embassies causing the crashes. I've removed the possibility to build them and didn't experience a crash since then, so I'll consider this a temporary fix. I'll commit this revision soon to get a stable version until I've figured out what's wrong exactly with embassies.

Good. Playing 1.9 felt a little like cheating :).

And just when you thought all was once again well, the civ switch mechanic doesn't work right.

If I press no, nothing happens. If I press yes, it blinks, then proceeds as normal.

So it asks you to switch to Italy even though you have started as Italy? Do I get that right?

Yes.

Also, not really a bug, but it has always annoyed me in RFC when the forest spread mechanic happens and I get snowy forests in South Africa or south of Moskva.

Not a bug, but the AI being really stupid.

I say it should be fixed.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not. I am playing a game as France on v1.9, I managed to conquer Milan and Rome, while Pompei remained independent. Italy then spawned on the Milan tile but did not flip the city and did not get any city at all. Their two units wandered around for a while and then the civilization disappeared.
Is this normal?

Obviously not normal. Do you have a save from before they spawn?

Unfortunately I don't, I will make sure to keep one next time I have this type of bug.

Hi there Leoreth. I read a bit about the crashes we've all been getting lately, but I wasn't sure if mine fits the criteria as a known bug or not.

I'm playing England, 600 AD start on Epic speed. Turn 178(456)/1592 AD is as far as I'm able to go, though. When I end turn, the game will crash sometime during the loading screen. AI movements and actions shuffle around on screen for a few moments before the whole thing just stops. I let it try to load for a few minutes (average loading time is around 10 seconds) before Ctrl-Alt-Del. Not sure what the issue is. Here's the save:

You're on 1.9 right, not SVN? Because I think I have already fixed that in the SVN.

So, what does this embassy-bug-crash fix? WB crash? Does it solve the memory error too?
I'll try update to the SVN and enable VD then.

As far as I can tell, yes.

Guess someone forgot to reactivate that. ;)

Yeah, it was one of my attempts to fix the crashes, will return with the next commit.

Hey Leoreth I don't know if you noticed this but the new location of Madrid doesn't have fresh water, the name Madrid come from Al-Magrit meaning the "city of fresh water" in which it doesn't even have fresh water. I was thinking expending the river 1 tile west of Madrid 1 tile east into Madrid.

We decided after the Moors that the new Madrid spot did not need the extra production later on. 6 turns to Sistine Chapel does not need the extra production of a levy. After all, you don't see modern Madrid having most of the wonders of the modern world.
