Bug reports and technical issues

I know, sorry for the trouble.
'Tis not your fault, not at all :)

...your memory can't handle all the graphics, or because one of the graphics is broken or missing, which can also result in a CTD.
Now we're cooking! Didn't consider that until now, but I think that's the problem. The CTDs only appear after a couple of turns of the game (100, 150), i.e. there are more textures (Civs, cities, improvements, units...) as in the beginning. Problem unfortunately solved.
Anyway, I'm going to get me a new laptop in 4-8 weeks, so this should only be a temporary issue :)

Yeah, that's unfortunate, but at least now we know the likeliest reason and can stop guessing.

Getting rid of VD is probably good for my computer. Apparently it was about a gigabyte.

Same size 64 problem without VD though. Whatever a city indicator compositor is.

And . . . (not to say that you should have) I do get the problem with the save in 1190

In this save file, you should encounter a galley of mine unable to enter a fort I built on Socotra.

Not within your or a vassal's cultural borders.

Forgiven.

About the size 64 CTD:

Other reports of the size 64 thing are here and here

One seems to think there is a problem and the other does not. Don't know if this helps any, but its worth a shot.

*Does not happen anymore without VD. Forgive my ignorance but that was from a VD save*

Another city naming issue, this time as the Arabs. I was settling the east coast of Africa, all the way down to Zanzibar, which I founded 3N of Native Quelimane, across the river. The coast was pretty empty between Zanzibar and Maqadishu, so I decided to found another city 3N of Zanzibar, on the tile adjacent to both Victoria and the mountains. I expected the city to be a border town between Kenya and Tanzania (I'm not sure what the best name would be, possibly Nairobi), but I instead got the default name of Kufah.

As you can see, I am given the option to build a Babylonian Embassy. However, the Babylonians were destroyed a long time ago (before I spawned). Also note the messed up Byzantine Embassy icon.

Well...this is kind of awkward. I got the same CTD when trying to open WB in my game, although the graphics are on the lowest setting and I don't use VD.
I also tried a game with epic speed (again, most recent SVN+blue marble), and there I had no problems opening WB, although there are a lot more textures to load as in the game first mentioned; I even put the graphics on medium level, and no problem to load WB...
Also, I think the CTD occurs at around the same time as the ones a few days ago (with VD). It's always in the 1200s. Maybe there is something wrong with marathon speed?
I'm going to try again tomorrow with VD on epic.

Edit: Still works fine with graphics on ultimate high level (epic speed game). WB just takes a few seconds longer to load, but no CTD whatsoever...
Edit2: No CTD with VD+blue marble on epic and graphics on middle level. So the bug is quite sure about marathon speed...

Been addressed a long time ago. It happens. Probably Chinese.

Hi, I try playing the Iranians, but after I switch, their capital Ishtafa( I think) has the graphic of a city ruin, but it is actually a city (double click it). Quite strange thing. I tried playing for some turns and it never went normal and it hinders gameplay a bit to not see your capital on the map.

Load the save. Same thing happens to me.

:aargh: CTD on end of turn, just right before I found Protestantism.
(600AD, epic, emperor, VD+patch, blue marble)

Yes, I guess it is isolated to Medieval Europe. I don't have VD and don't get it. Gameplay comes before graphics, and there is a little differential already, if not 1 GB of it.

Why the Byzantine icon is so oval on #1229?
Or was it from the beginning?
No, it isn't. I think this is what might be causing the icon size mismatch crash as well. Somethings wrong with embassies in general and I intend to fix that soon.

Played this mod long time ago, now installed new version (1.9) to "Play as Byzantium, Italy, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, the Mughals" (any of them)... but I only see Korea as an option on 3000BC screen, but without any info (all is 'XXXX') and it doesn't load, for a sec I see game screen as 'maya people', and then game crashes.
Any idea why this might happen?

Not sure. Are you on BtS 3.19? And if you previously had the mod installed already, did you delete it before installing the new version?

So...I was one turn before building Notre Dame when someone was quicker. I reloaded the savegame from one turn before because (shame on me, I know...) I really needed the 2 extra :c5happy: for my cities. But I got the same CTD as before (bad allocation, icon mismatch), but I'm using only the most recent SVN and blue marble, no VD.
I reloaded the save from 6 turns before I would have finished Notre Dame and peeked at Spain (because it said previously that Notre Dame was build in Spain). But none of their cities was building ND. I closed WB and ended my turn, and in the next turn it said, Spain built Notre Dame. I wanted to check this, because this could not be right (they did'nt had a great engineer) and tried to open WB, but got again a CTD with a C++ problem.

Edit: the CTD occured at the same time (~1240, 1250) as all my CTDs in the last few days, whether on epic or marathon and with or without VD.
