Bug reports and technical issues

So...I was one turn before building Notre Dame when someone was quicker. I reloaded the savegame from one turn before because (shame on me, I know...) I really needed the 2 extra :c5happy: for my cities. But I got the same CTD as before (bad allocation, icon mismatch), but I'm using only the most recent SVN and blue marble, no VD.
I reloaded the save from 6 turns before I would have finished Notre Dame and peeked at Spain (because it said previously that Notre Dame was build in Spain). But none of their cities was building ND. I closed WB and ended my turn, and in the next turn it said, Spain built Notre Dame. I wanted to check this, because this could not be right (they did'nt had a great engineer) and tried to open WB, but got again a CTD with a C++ problem.

Edit: the CTD occured at the same time (~1240, 1250) as all my CTDs in the last few days, whether on epic or marathon and with or without VD.

Yeah, I'm also getting freezes/crashes when I try to open worldbuilder. However, I'm pretty sure you can do well without opening it, since my crashes were occuring at about 1300 AD or so. I don't know what the crash was, since the game froze. I opened task manager, and a few moments later I got the "Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword has stopped working" message. This happens consistently.

Edit: This was SVN revision 388.

But this does not explain how Spain could possibly have build Notre Dame in less than 4 turns without a GP...

At the end of turn 1730, I have every requirement for the 1st UHV checked in green. I hit end turn, I get a failed uhv message, and I get a 1/3 status in the UHV progress,

I check the F8 screen, I see that I failed the cities per continent requirement, and that I finished the tech UHV, but it can't be because I am still 6 turns away from completing radio.

Save attached.

Hi, I was playing as Romans on 3000AD start, and no matter what civ spawned, I could not switch to them, it only gave me an option to allow the flip. I update via SVN so I don't know if that is the problem or it is a bug.

This has been the case for a while now.

Is there a solution in sight for the CTD when opening WB or are you too busy at the moment implementing the new Civs, Leo?

I'm too busy doing other stuff at the moment ;)

But the problem with the WB crash is that it is hard to track down.

Same game, I reload a few turns before and I settle my oceania cities in 1727 instead. At the end of turn 1730, I get 2/3 UHV instead. The cities per continent requirement and the technological one. And yet, I still have several turns left for Radio, and I didn't research anything on the same turn anyway.

At this point if you lose a mercenary in any way other than it dying or giving it up it continues to cost. I know better than to delete one but it also happens when one (or in my case 3) flips to another civilization, and now I am stuck with a permanent 12 expense.

Not sure if this has been reported as im playing the non svn version.

In my current game as Italy, the 2nd UHV goal tells me to get 3 cities at Influential culture by 1600, but the counter underneth seems to suggest i need 5.

After getting 3 cities to influential culture, the goal ticked off and said it was complete, so im guessing it was just a mistype with the counter.

All the introduction messages for when you begin a civilization, "It is the year 3000BC and the Chinese..." all seem to be jumbled up. I get Portugal's when playing Poland, and I get Persia's when I play Phoneacia. I think I get Babylon's when I am Greece.

The vikings don't seem to build cities, they stuck with Oslo the entire game, and only conquered.
When playing as Poland, the Prussians came. As planned, they're already at war with me. But on their first turn, they move all their soldiers one tile down out of Berlin, and I just come in and kill them on the first turn..

...

There should be a sticky post in big red letters telling people not to report this since it's already known for some time and will be fixed later when all new civs are added.

Thinking about it, is there even any topic or post "known bugs" so we know what bugs Leoreth already know about? If there is one, just ignore me, I must be blind ^^

There is a known bug spoiler on the main page of the main thread, but I scarcely ever go look at it (and it's not up to date).

This could very well be a feature change rather than a bug, and if so I apologize, but I notice in my most recent Arabia game that I am not getting Mosques, just Islam and Temples, in my conquered cities. If this change is intentional, I'd appreciate it if the civilopedia entry that describes their UP were updated. It's not exactly a small change.

I was told about this already, but then forgot to fix it. Thanks.

I don't bother to update this because it'll take more time than it's worth.

It's no problem if bugs get reported more than once, but looking up at least the last page of this thread isn't asking for too much either :)

You're right, will update the text.

What about one of active user here create a thread for that and you or moderator make it sticky? Or perhaps you'd like only post that you created to be stickied so it'll be more tidy #JustIdeas

What would we gain from this? Either I'd have to maintain the new thread or communicate with the person that maintains it, which is the same amount of work.

People posting the same bugs over and over again, while it may be annoying, I guess also shows some kind of ranking in severity.
