Agreed. It could be a good marketing decision if they release Civ VII in 2025, and bundling the Civ IV remaster with it, even if it's part of a pre order bundle. Any way we could get in touch with them where they'd actually read that suggestion? I know Rhye has good standing with them.

Got these python exception right after I switched from Egypt to India using ctrl+c. They reappear every turn

Do you still have the save of this situation?
 
I treid to recreate them from autosaves: the one from turn 52, two turns before the switch, doesn't trigger the exceptions, while the one from 6 turns before does.
If I save the game on turn 54 right before I do the switch and load that savegame, the exceptions don't come out. So here are all three of them

OMG it's taking soooo effing long and took so many tries but I'm finally 1 turn away from winning England's UHV. However, the moment I end that final turn before I win I get a CtD. Replicated twice.
Not for me, on the latest develop. Did you try loading that save and finishing the game from there?
 
I got a a small thing, a CTD when you try to load a save from another modmod (sunset in my case), when I pick cancel then instead of starting the mod.

PS: Might be a faulty Github install let me check.

No I see no maps to load with the latest github, the privatemaps files are .txt

Why do you expect that loading a save from another modmod would work?

Scenario files are obsolete now. You can start the game by using "Play Now" and selecting your scenario in the following options.

That setting doesn't make a difference. Currently, there is only one map of world size "huge", so that is the only option. So the outcome of picking random will also be huge and you will end up with the same map. Unfortunately, I am unable to remove the slider or its random option.
 
Not sure if it is a bug I play usually on monarch/Epic and noticed Babylons build often the oracle before the Greeks even pop up in 1600, 50% of the time, sometimes even with their second city with a size of 2.

This time the Harrapan even build the pyramids.

I am aware that the Oracle is currently unattainable for the Greeks. In general it's not a problem that e.g. the Pyramids are built by someone other than Egypt in some games.
 
The tile that represents the sinal peninsula isn't marked as rise for arabia, therefore any city built there doesn't flip to Arabia during its rise.

I think that is intended (it is the Gaza/Sinai), but Arabia also get Knossos for example on Krete, so a flipzone can be different then historical. It also shows on the Ctrl-W not part of the flipzone, it is rare there is a city there though.

I also noticed units not flip to the other side if they in a city anymore right?
 
i just recently removed Crete and Cyprus from the Arabian birth area.
 
There been an emirate of Crete but from 824/827-961, then Byzantium took it back, so guess the Arabs are contested there maybe, not sure what counts no idea if they left any influence behind.
 
Hello everyone. I have found solution for python errors right after launch new game (grassland map, see post #7825 for example). The problem is line endings: "\n" instead of "\r\n" in .txt files from PrivateMaps folder. You can easily fix it with Notepad++: just select exteneded search mode and replace all \n with \r\n
 
The arab came and I got a war and now it is stuck like this for like 8 turns now. The city can't expand for some reason cause maybe the culture is mostly arab outside, but no arab city is even near.
