Bug Reports and Technical Issues

AI tech speed is intentionally fast on Paragon. There have been a number of changes to tech speed in 1.13, which apparently especially influenced AI performance during autoplay. I will keep this in mind and address it in the future, maybe it is better to either play from a later scenario or use Emperor instead.

Now I finished autoplay 3000 BC map on Emperor/Marathon with Russia

Information according to world builder:

Persia got first colony in Mexico and China is technological leader with Renaissance technologies

I am going to try out Emperor on 600 AD for Russia.

The Babylonian city of Uruk (2S, 1E of Babylon) appears to be missing the 'k.' It's spelled Uru.

I have also heard many players here tell me the best plan for Russia isn't to research all your techs on your own, but to run an espionage economy and use your massive economy to load up on espionage points (for example: set espionage to 80% instead of your research to 80%.) Then steal techs from your neighbors.
Granted, I have never completed a game doing this, but I am currently trying this strategy out.

That city is Ur, Uru is the Sumerian name.

Issue that has been around since forever in this mod: When you order a transport unit onto a land tile to unload units onto it the unit then pretends that it was given the Skip turn command, even if it has some moves left, while in Vanilla and pretty much every other mod in existence it still continues as if nothing happened.

Oh really? I thought it was a problem in vanilla too. Maybe it's easy to fix then.

Quick Worldbuilder test confirmed that this problem does not exist in BtS, so it was introduced either by you, Rhye, or one of the various mods you absorbed over the years.

OK Leoreth, no need to look, Cudfather's hint was successful, I manually edited the security setting of Autolog and it dissappeared, thanks to both of you!
Unfortunately, I am computer illiterate, and I'm having this same problem. DoC is my absolute favorite mod, and I really want to play it without this issue.

Could someone please explain how to manually edit the security settings for autolog so this problem disappears? I can make it to the right menu, but I don't know what I'm supposed to change... Thanks!

For what it's worth, I don't remember this happening in RFC and I played on the latest version available.

By now I've played a few games of v 1.13, and I came across a particular error message three times.

The text of the first is: "Error in OnPreSave event handler <bound method CvRFCEventHandler.onPreSave of <CvRFCEventHandler.CvRFCEventHandler instance at 0x1D52FE68>>"

The only difference for the second is "instance at 0x1D421E68" and the third is "0x1D552E68."

No idea what it means, and it didn't seem to have any actual effect on my games, but I thought you ought to know.

Thanks for the report. You're right it's nothing to worry about, but I will have a look.

I don't have screenshots, but I will confirm I see these messages too.
They appear to happen during the "save" feature. In my case, I only see them sometimes when I hit the "quick save" keyboard shortcut. Sometimes like maybe 1 out of 25 or 30 times.

Yeah, it's noted.

By the way, you can now always see what I have actually "noted" here. You can raise issues there directly too.

omg I have just realized that you updated your signature. That's really an honor, especially since it's been such a fixture for basically the entire time I have been on this forum.

I felt weird with the Rhye signature posting in this Dawn of Civilization forum (and that's the only place I post.) You definitely deserve some kind of recognition and that's the least I can do. Now I'm trying to find how I can change the "RFC FANATIC" line right beneath my avatar. I'll find it eventually.

I just downloaded the permanent version of 1.13, after deleting the entire SVN version and all related save files, etc. It's working great, except that every turn in-game I get a notice "BugOptions - failed writing INI file 'C:\[...]\RFC Dawn of Civilization\UserSettings\Autolog.ini'"

Any ideas?

This has been reported before (maybe in the general discussion thread): apparently you can resolve the problem by giving write access to the files in the Autolog folder.
