Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Hi Leoreth, I was playing the new version 1.18 with BrasilCIV and I think I found 2 bugs.

1st - Resource rubber is generating production bonuses when you have the industrial park (as expected), but the resource rubber icon does not appear in the box on the top right of the screen along with the other resources. And it is not generating unhealth.

2nd - When I won the "refinning" Tech through trade with SpainCIV, immediately in the next turn two "oil industry" corporations appeared in my cities Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre. Even though I do not have a single oil resource. (However, I do have 1 sugar resource, so the bug may be because the old sugar UP still counts as oil for BrasilCIV in the code). But the oil industry gives 0 gold per turn.

extra - I do not know if this last one is a bug or expected behavior.

What is the criteria for distributing the best trade routes between the cities of my CIV?

because in previous versions (1.17), the most productive routes were given to the cities with the largest population. However, in the attached save, my city of Porto Alegre, with a population of 4 and being 8th in the cultural ranking, has stronger trade routes than the city of Rio de Janeiro, which has a population of 8 and is 1st in the cultural ranking, had the "second" best routes (both cities are coastal). So I don't know if there is something wrong with this distribution, or if the mechanism is working properly.

because I would like the best routes to be in the city of Rio de Janeiro because I built the College National Wonder there. So I would like the best trade routes to be in this city so that the trade would be multiplied by +100% and give even more science points.

I've finally gotten around to getting 1.18 (and using Git for the first time!) but I don't seem to have the new map. Is there something separate I have to do to get that? All of the new civs are there, but it's all on the old map.

Minor bug(?): When I settle the starting tile (Al Qunfudhah rn) as the Arabs I get no free Islamic Imam. But the Imam appears when Islam is found in anywhere else.

I noticed Burma built a city one tile west of Yangon, most likely because the proper tile was under Khmer's territory.
I've also noticed HRE LOVES spamming cities, while Norse stays in Nidaros rather than colonizing the rest of Norway and Denmark.
For some reason the Holy City of Islam is somewhere in Central Asia, not in Makkah (which has a weird name BTW).

PS: I was looking at religious victories. Is it me or the Toltecs require something that is unique to the Aztecs? (Golden Ages with slaves).

Hard to say without looking at the save, but I am also not sure how this is being prioritised. It might be that cities simply get prioritised by the order they were acquired in.

As already mentioned, something has gone wrong in the transition from the installed mod to the git version for sure. Make sure to remove or relocate all existing mod files before getting the mod again.

Okay new problem: now the game crashes after I choose a civ on the "Initializing" step. I fear the new map may be too awesome for my poor little laptop.

Select any civ in any scenario, then instead of starting a game, go back to the civ selection screen, the civs should now be listed alphabetically instead of chronologically.

The names of civs in some tooltips and the civilopedia show up as numbers. This problem cropped up well into the session and fixed itself when I reloaded the game so I don't know if a save would help.

Also some of the Arabian expansion area hung around way later than it should have.

A cluster of python exceptions pop up upon ending the turn in this game.

Edit: another one, the same game. This one happens when Portugal spawns.

The tooltip for the Dutch UHV#2 to conquer 4 cities of european civs outside of Europe should read something like "outside of Europe" instead of "Europe".

Hi Leoreth, kudos on the expansion of the game with more detail, possibilities, and of course the more realistic world map.
I did not see it mentioned elsewhere, but it seems the mercenary feature is not working.
I often play as the Byzantines, and now that their UP isn't the barbarian hiring with spies feature, I tried using the global option of running Citizenship and trying to hire Barbarian mercenaries. However, when I have a spy over a barbarian the bribe button does not activate.
I hope it's something that you can get working because the Byzantines have a lot of work to do conquering for UHV and fighting to defend from multiple invaders.
Thank you for the wonderful work you do for this community!

Glad you're enjoying it. Do you have a save with the spy in place but unable to bribe the barbarian unit?

Also fun thing with England - when enter Renaissance Era - tech cost raise up. And probably with other civs happen too (look familiar)
(use GE in London in save file). Is this intended?
UPD. Well, in you enter Renaissance Era - Tech spread cost add to tech cost. In ME Technology in research have no additional "Tech spread cost"

In version 1.18, I can't load a game that was newly saved in version 1.18.
So I am reinstalling the mod from scratch.
I hope this issue is due to a mistake I made during the installation process.

Unfortunately it's not just you, I'm getting the same bug.

Edit: I want to clarify this is for post-update saves, not the incompatible saves before the civic change.

Getting the same thing using the Git version. Loading compatible save files works normally after reverting to the pre-civic change version.
