Hello, need help..:confused:
Problem: does not appear when you start building - Ixian weaponry contract - and I can not get the resource Ixian weaponry. I studied technology - Chemical Explosives. I should be able to build Crawlers but I cannot. The unit shows in the available options to build but is shadowed out. Hovering over the Crawler icon, the message 'requires Ixian weaponry' appears.

Also does not work a number of other unique bonus resources available to other civilizations.

You get Ixian Weaponry contract only by building a Landing Stage building (requires Offworld Trade) and then selecting "Ixian Weaponry" as your import.

You cannot "build" the Ixian weaponry contract building, it comes only via the Landing stage.

Some other faction unique resources (eg Sardaukar cooperation) also use this same mechanism; you must build a Landing Stage to get the resource.

So, the Crawler requires both Chemical explosives tech but also Offworld trade tech for the Landing Stage building.

Got a problem with the latest patch for 1.9 dune wars. Seems there was a nice remodelling of the polar region. Problem is there is now a new type of terrain (polar sink think it is called) that has now trade route type set for it. Is this planned or missed? Anyone else got this?

Yes, I've had the same problem. Polar sink terrain is unreachable for trade or connecting resources. Its quite annoing. Please patch this.
 
After installing the main game and patching it with the latest 1.9.1.2, whenever I load the game, I get tons of errors because of tag<x> techinfo or something like that. Any help?
 
In the 1.9.1.2 release note, it mentions that you must also install 1.9.1. Did you do that? If you had not installed 1.9.1, then you should install that first and then re-install 1.9.1.2.
 
Yes, the welcome to dune thread is still confusing. It should tell you to install 1.9.1 instead of 1.9.

I suggest uninstalling and then installing 1.9.1

Next question, then, is where can I find 1.9.1? My first (and only) few games were with 1.9. I was going to start a new game with the latest patch, but saw this post. However, I cannot seem to find 1.9.1 to install before 1.9.1.2.

edit: Never mind, found it here. If 1.9.1 is required before installing 1.9.1.2, it really needs to be linked from the welcome page!
 
I recently tried to install and play this mod, but as the game was loading up I received numerous python errors ( I don’t remember all of them, but one was something about mentats) and once I started a game I could see and move my units, but no HUD appeared.

I assumed this is some sort of installation issue so I uninstalled the mod, downloaded the installer again, reinstalled, and repatched. Same issue.

I still assume this is an installation issue, and I’d like to be able to manually tear out the previously installed components and reinstall again.

My questions to the community are:
a.) Where are the components of the mod that need to be removed after attempting an uninstallation request via the start menu’s uninstall option?
b.) What is the link to the most current version and patch? I know, I know that’s totally remedial and its probably in the top post of this very forum, but it really would be a help just to help me make sure I have the best version.

Please see the post immediately above yours. Please install 1.9.1, and play to make sure it works. Once you have something working, then install the latest release 1.9.1.2.

First I have to say this mod is awesome! I love it. I ran into a bug in my most recent game not too sure if its known or not. I am running vers. 1.9.1.2. After I end my current turn (317 turns left in game on epic) the AI seems to go into an infinite loop while taking its turn. I know Gaius Helen Mohiam is afraid of the ordos's might but seriously. Im not sure if you want a copy of the save game to look at or not. Its the first time this has happened to me in a game. I've reloaded from autosaves and played through but at the same point it hangs.
 
I have a bug, i skimmed thread and searched but didn't find out much. I can play mod fine, but get "failed to uncompress save file" when trying to load a game. Windows xp, 1.9.1.2,
read a post about same error they said something about bad read/write data ?
 
This type of error is usually the result of trying to load a save file after

a.)adding new xml entries (a new unit/promotion etc.) or
b.)changing the CvGameCoreDLL file (Dll changes)

both of which usually occur with patches. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it sounds like you might have started a game under one patch, patched the mod, then tried loading the old save game?

Try starting a new game and see if it saves and loads correctly, it certainly should.

There's also newer patches out, I'd suggest downloading the lastest, as there are a number of fixes since 1.9.1.2. Don't worry about it being called a beta, that's just for getting espionage feedback before I finalize it. It's been 100% stable in my testing. And of course, you'll need to start a new game after installing it :).

spice doesn't appear to give money from improvements - you're probably aware of this.

Some graphical glitches, pink improvements, when some units die they get they're arm stretched to the to left of the screen. But I am only using a laptop with non-existent graphics card and win xp.

Have played through 300 turns and game running fine and still challenging. Cheers

I get this as well. My graphics card is also, well, mehh (on-board intel mobile graphics, oh yeah! :lol:), but this is probably more to do with some animation glitch. That's Deliverator's department.

What do you mean by this, spice income should be working just fine? For each spice you have a harvester on, you'll get 3 extra commerce in your capital (so it can go to gold, science, etc. based on your slider)

Which improvements? Might be something fixed already if you've still got an older patch, I've never seen any improvement texture issues in the recent patches. I'd also make sure you don't have anything left over from an older version by deleting the dunewars mod folder and re-install from scratch (1.9.1 then the latest patch) and seeing if it's still an issue. Sometimes old left-over art assets can override the newer ones and cause graphical issues.

Oh, i didn't know that. But I was talking about spice silo improvement, in the city screen it doesn't appear to give any benefit (also when selecting to build, there is no gold or coin beside "actual") (even with many spice resource to my name)

re: graphical issues,
it is possible previous installs are interfering, also possible computer/os is interfering, computer is buggy all over at the moment. One day soon I will buy a new hard disk and reinstall everything, then we shall see ;)
 
No need for a new hard disk; just delete all version of the "Dune Wars" folder in your mods directly and do a clean reinstall.

The Spice Silos use the same tag as all the other similar buildings that give commerce from number of resources. I know they don't have any 'actual' shown which is probably true of the others in that category (like the Guild Research Facility for example) which is simply because that is imported straight from BUG where no such tag exists and no code has been added to show the actual. I'll take a look at that and make sure they are bringing in gold to the city.
