New York (CNN) - Around 12 hours after shutting itself down in the United States, TikTok is back for many users almost like it never left, attributing its return to a move by President-elect Donald Trump to save the app. TikTok welcomed users back with a notification that said: “Thanks for your patience and support. I guess that's one good effect that Trump had on regular USians who use Tiktok (and there aren't just a few of them; article says it is 170 million).
170 million, mostly younger people. I am sure this won't translate to any lasting political gains - but even if it does, the previous administration was doing the right thing by banning social media
