C2C SVN Changelog

I just updated the SVN this morning and when I start a new game, I get a message that states:

"BugConfig - failure parsing c:\Programs Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Config\Beastmaster.xml at Line X"

Where the "line X" is for lines 6, 7, and 8

This sort of thing should still go in the bug thread. I "fixed" it I thought last night before going to bed. I will fix it fully this afternoon.

For Anti-Clerical, one of the lines reads '+4 Reduction to RevIdx penalty from Non State :religion: Holy City.' What exactly does this mean?

For each Holy Shrine in the city that is not the Holy Shrine of your state religion the revolution index gets +4 added to it, ie the chance of a revolt goes up.

Makes sense, but perhaps it could be reworded? Saying it is a reduction in the penalty made me think it was a good thing initially.

Hey guys, I love your mod, been lurking since last summer! I have a question, can I help out with the future eras? Im a huge scifi nerd, and since I was little I used to dream how the future may be like. I have alot of ideas, especially for the spaceship eras. I have read almost every short story by Isaac Asimov, and like 600 sci fi books, love the shows on Syfy, love scifi movies, and I used to mod for Sword and the Stars under a different pename at Kerberos Productions forum. <y favorite 4x game is GalCiv 2 and im sad their are no mods for it. Another favorite is Master of Orion 2 and Empires 5.

Ill do that! Im already having fun at the Transhuma Era thread! =) . Ive been playing C2C since version 15 that came out last year.
 
How do you found corps and guilds in the SVN? can't seem to figure it out. Tried using great persons, didn't work.

There is a custom game option "Realistic Corporations" if you have that selected then guilds and corporations will found themselves. You can't, you need to make the conditions right for them to found.
 
Updates
- Add a cut scene for Mesoamerican religion Nagualism
- Use new cut scenes for Druid and Asatru religions. (Yes I know sound is missing from the Asatru one.)

Edit - update
- Get rid of error message in Beast master stuff. no it does not fix the problem of the beast master disappearing from the tamed animal unit on re-load.

I am going to use Google Cloud Drive to Edit the Tech Tree Excel from now on. Link on my signature, and give the Tech Team the ability to collaborate, add and edit Techs.

Google Cloud Drive allows Real Time Editing with multiple people.

2.Bold and Green with Initials : Cars (AZ) = Should Add. Go ahead and Add the Tech to the Tech Tree. Make a comment on the Edits box if you want. mention why on the Tech tree Discussion, Transhuman or Galactic Threads.


3.Go ahead and move techs if you want. Just make sure to bold it, and put your initial Xgrid it was moved from. Ex. Cars is now located in x7, but used to be in X1 Cars (AZ,X1).

4.For renames, go ahead and rename the Tech, and mark it blue and bolded ex. Trucks. In the Edit box put Renamed TECH to Tech (intial).
ex. Renamed Cars to Trucks (AZ). mention why on the Tech tree Discussion, Transhuman or Galactic Threads.

The final version of the Tech Tree will be HydromancerX Online Tech Tree.

I think that this team should be acknowledged as an official C2C Future Team, with Core leadership and veto of Hydromancerx, Leadership by MrAzure, and the team members being officially recognized.

I hope we can also appoint and acknowledge a team of skilled advisors, who are encouraged to freely comment, and work out ideas, and who may be also involved with other mods, or projects, for the purpose and love of - Exploring ideas about the Future in Civilization games - in the community of C2C. This Future Dream team would be a great help to functionally generating, discovering, and implementing the best of ideas about the future into C2C. Creating this advisory Future team could attract the best of Civ modders who have made future based mods or worked on other future based video games: inspiring the best free discussion, and experimentation in new C2C features and modmods. I envision people like Maniac, the creator of the excellent Planetfall Mod, (the port of SMAC, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri civ game, and Alien Crossfire Expansion), the creator or contributors of the official CIV Expansion- included mods: the Final Frontier and Next War, and possibly Afforess, or Zappara, Glider1, or Chiyu, could be asked to inspire a few comments, and come together, even temporarily or as a one time public event, as a Dream Team, for the specific purpose and the idea of sharing a few ideas of making Civ better (FOR THE LOVE OF CIV!), and with a hope of lending a little, occasional comment or advice to making C2C better. Makers of all sorts of future mods of Civ or other gaming mods, could be invited and inspired to come together in the C2C forums, behind the idea of brainstorming ideas about the future together, in the C2C forums, and the result could be even greater exploration and implementation of ideas about the future in C2C! People like Civ Fuehrer, who are focused on making their own game or mod, and can (and have) offered valuable help, discussion, and insight for C2C,
should be personally invited and encouragement to the correct threads for regular discussion, so they can see the value that be created by working on both, their own and C2C's ideas. We want more people like Civ Fuehrer contributing. A developing team is a great step towards build greater discussion and implementation of any C2C feature, and the evolution of C2C!

(I think this discussion belongs in the SVN discussion because it involves the ModTeam in the possibility of creating the 1st (and 2nd) official C2C and SVN secondary team.)

ps. other svn and group tools, could enhance communication, collaboration, and db access so that documents/files could be worked on at the same time and don't get deleted or overwritten. I recommend google docs, and Teamviewer, since they are useful for me in group projects. I am continuing to look to find better ones.

  • Added Is (e.g. TAG_WATER, which is true if it is next to a river or coast) and IntegrateOr to boolean expressions.
  • Added NewCityFree tag to building info which is a boolean expression that is evaluated on founding a city and if it is true adds the building as starting building to the city.
  • Fixed a bug in boolean expression constants XML reading.
 
Is slowdown normal near the end of the game? I have an i5 @4.5ghz and turns take around 1-2 minutes around the digital age. Only 4 other cpus on a standard sized map :P A new Dawn ran a lot better for me.
