Hello everyone who works on the C2C Mod so diligently each day!
My name is Aaron Hillibush and I have been playing the Civ4 series since it was released. First and foremost, and I am sure you hear this all the time but, the C2C Mod is by far, hands down, bar none, the best mod for ANY game on the pc platform. I am 31 years old and I have seen a lot of great ideas come and go. The passion and dedication to continue work on such an epic project is rare to find. I am very grateful for you ALL and honestly feel a little ashamed that I have been a "lurker" for so many YEARS with out ever coming out publically and thanking you all.
I have been doing the Civ4 mods since RoM and often would become so frustrated that my system with its 4 GB of RAM and 512MB video card just couldn't handle the late game, or any game on larger than a "small" map.
I have recently purchased, a beast. 32GB of RAM upgradable to 64, 3GB video card, all the bells and whistles. I am now very happily chugging away on the latest full version, slightly unsure of which SVN, 77xx something. I know it is not the most recent, which leads to my question.
Where can I go to make sure I have the latest SVN? It seems like when I download, I always get the same version. My problem lies in that goofball <ART_UNIT_DEF...> deal. I'm sure you all know what I am talking about. I have seen several posts about it on here as I went through over 100 pages trying to find answers before I turned into "that guy" who just shows up, contributes nothing, and wants, wants, wants.
I did open the Assets folder, and did what I thought the fix was, my game continued to work again for several turns before I ran into the same error for a different <ART_DEF_...> issue. At this point I am unsure of which file I have to do what to, to continue any further. I have seen other posts stating the issue was fixed in SVN "77xx", but again I am unsure how to download these latest versions.
I think it would be best for me to just download the most recent SVN with these issue fixed than try to open each file myself and do it solo. You guys know what you are doing, I do not. In the future, if time allows I would love to learn more about modding, and actually be a contributor. Right now however I barely have time to enjoy the game, and lately I have spent that time trying to get my version to work. I'm sure no one wants to hold my hand through every little aspect of fixing it myself, and I don't blame them. But if anyone could steer me in the right direction of the most recent SVN, or give helpful advice, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you all again for everything you do!
AND... I do see these posts about another FULL version coming soon.... I am very excited and don't want to wait!
