Quick question. I just had an automated worker build a fortress. I'd never seen that before, and I automate a LOT of workers. Just curious as to what would have caused this to happen.

Maybe a resource on the tile that the AI controlling the worker "thinks" needs protecting? I rarely automate workers and then only automate workers on "improve this city", so I'm guessing here.

In response to the person who asked about the colonist building
a colony on the resource in the desert.

I noticed that I couldnt use my colonists in the Age of Discovery Scenario to build cities unless it was on a cleared area or a hill. If there is forest or its a desert, I couldnt build the city. I am guessing that is a limit to the colony ability (and the downside to them since that doesnt happen with 2 pop cost settlers...).

Does anyone know if they are ever going to bring back the "City View" button so you can get the fancy picture of your city?

Also, has anyone had any problems where Conquests just closes altogether? I was playing and suddenly found myself at my desktop (thank god for autosaves) a couple times.

Also (this may sound stupid but hell...) Minimal Corruption (like in democracy) is less then Nusciance (fascism) correct?

You can still get the city view, the only issue is taht you won't be able to see the art for new conquest building. For your corruprtion question, you're right on, democracy has the least corruption. Fascism has the same corruption level as republic.

In my most recent game, Babylon had more than enough culture to win a civ cultural victory (they had 70000+ on a tiny map), but the game did not end, went all the way to 2050, when I won based on score. I just wanted to see if there was any explanation before I put it in the bug forum. C3C 1.15.

They also need more than twice the culture of anyone else.

Gee, wouldn't that be kinda tough? Does that rule apply to the 20,000 one city cultural win as well? If so, do you have to have twice the overall culture or twice the culture of the most culture rich city of your rival?

You need 100k + more than twice the culture of the number to civ to trigger the Cultural victory.

As for the 20k city victory, I don't know about that.

It's only 100K on a standard map now. It varies by map size. Huge map is 160K.

Hmm. . . I'm pretty sure I got a cultural victory with 1.15 (maybe it was 1.13/1.15, I don't remember when I patched) at 100k on a large. I'm playing a large map now, I'll have to check it out. Looks like I'll hit cultural before domination.

Turner,
check victory status screen (F8). The limits for cultural victory listed consider the map size.:) So what used to be a '100k' is sort of relative now.
20k is still absolute for each map size (in all regards, no double amount needed).

Is it possible to get a Military Great Leader from (obviously Elite) Ancient Cavalry or Crusader? I'm thinking that you can, but was wondering if anyone has experienced this?

Yes you can. It is a great way to get armies early.

I haven't been able to trade maps with AI in any C3C game I've played. Was that option removed, or is there some new tech that needs to be researched (besides map making, I have that)?

***update*** Nevermind, I'm a mook:crazyeye:
