C3C PBEM: "Rocroy" - Great Armada scenario

Sorry for the delay I got a lot of savs all at once will play and send in the next 24 hours

Spanish carrack defending the approaches to Antwerpen is sunk despite an heroic defence.
The Spanish ship was attacked by two Dutch carracks sinking 1 (-3) and then causing a further 3 points to the remaining carrack. However our crew was brave and are now considered veteran (3/6). The crew of the Gerrit are the toast of Rotterdam this evening.

Musketman kills reiter in Marseille an liberate the city( getting promoted at the same time).
Carrack from Barfleur attack and sinks carrack near Southampton.
Encouraged by this deed another carrack attacks and sinks a Sa Dog guarding the channel...

Who would have thought we would become a sea power with naval victories :)

I am not sure I understand. It seems we replayed the turn 3 what's going on ?????

The turn number increases between Knutis and Hasdrubal Barca.

............

The wrong turn was resent?

Maybe I sent the wrong turn to FuglCiv?
.......:crazyeye:

omg what a confusion.....

Pinman's 5 step plan to solving a major migraine::D

1) GreyGamer should check if he has the right save (I should control Aix)

2) If GreyGamer has the wrong save, aksully should check (I should control Aix)

3) If aksully has the wrong save, semental should check (I should control Aix)

4) If Semental has the wrong save FuglCiv should check.(I should control Aix)

5)I HAD the right save at some point. So if fuglCiv has the wrong save this is my fault. (Well the second mixup anyways...:( )

I'm going to upload the right file.

I believe I called it turn 3 so you might already have it. I think you guys are talking about replaying turn 2.

Recall: Turn 0-> no combat
Turn 1-> Took Blois
Turn 2-> Took Avignon
turn 3-> Took aix

According to my clock we are on turn 3.

Watch this post for the right file.

Edit: Here: Rocory_Turn3_France

I examined the two save files using CAII

Rocroy_turn_2.JPG

file rec 15th August
Rocroy_turn_3.JPG

file recieved 11th September

France controls Aix.
IOW the turn number hadn't been changed but you can tell the current file by the date June
I'd rather we didn't use this as grounds to retake our turns as the correct file has been sent but was incorrectly named.
Incidently the first turn is numbered '0' are we :confused: yet :crazyeye:

So all is well then? only the save file turn name is incorrect.

In sum: Loulong pls correct the name of save file to Rocroy_Turn3_Jul1581AD_ to the name and pass it along.

Newry was under Irish control in the save I sent out :confused:

Lou you must have played/sent the wrong turn.

I suggest a resend by GG......

EDIT: I just checked the screeny on my last report. You couldn't have taken Marseilles if you were playing the right turn. Lou's turn is invalid anyways GG, so it wouldn't be a replay.

File resent, though you should already have the correct file.
@ Hasdrubal Barca as the first player in future can you be careful to ensure the file is re-named with the correct turn as this :confused: some players :mischief:

Ok... and sorry for the delay.

Major battle (and defeat) at Tours. The walls were destroyed and 3 pikemen injured by bombardment. But the rest was not as good.
We killed 2 muskets and 1 landskech but lost 2 riders, 2 reiters, 1 landsknecht and 2 pikemen...
Very effective defensive bombardment, poor results, few retreats by reiters... = the siege is far from going as well as expected

Pinman's reaction to the news

When I saw Lou had posted: :scared: :hide:

When I saw the post:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :bowdown:
:spear: :clap: :faint:

This is definitely a good day for France.

Here comes an account from The Assault on Belfast July 1581:

Gallopping in front of the Irish horde attacking Belfast that summer were 2 companies of noble knights. Both were met by bombardment from within the city and one company were forced to retreat after meeting a tight formation of pikemen. The second company of knights however managed to flank the pikemen, brake their formation and kill allmost every single man in that group.

The presence of bombards did raise question if there might be more troops in the city than were before considered likely, but young, brave galowglasses did not care for suchs thoughts. All could think of was English waiting to be impaled on their swords, and so they charged wildly towards the city.

The first group of gallowglasses to reach the line of battle were also met by rain of death from the English bombards and were struck down by pikemen, but managed to inflict geavy damage on the enemy.
The second group was met by musketfire before more pikemen came forth to meet the charge. The gallowglasses emerged victorious this time.
The same thing happened when the third group of gallowglasses charged the English lines and another company of pikemen were cut down.
The fourth charging group did not fare so well when they were struck down by English musketfire.
Yet another group of gallowglasses attacked, and were victorious against a company of inexperienced musketmen, but now the war-chieves held back their men as they were uncertain of the full strenght of the English forces within the city.
After a quick meeting they decieded to wait for winter and for reinforcements from the southern clans.

shorter account of the battle: 3 pikemen and 1 musketman killed and 2 gallowglasses lost
