I've done some work on the governments to try and address the issue Wolfhart brought up about how quick the game moves, etc. But I've run into something that doesn't make sence to me and I was hoping someone wiser than I might take a look. Open the attached files. One is the CAMELOT! biq, the other a saved game I'm playing as Bretons on Monarch. Look at the Depotism & Tribalism governments in the biq file. Examine the differences. Then load the saved game into Civ and start it up. Now look at how advanced all the other civs are, particularly the Saxons; and look how much gold the Saxons have accumulated! All the other civs are using Despotism. Now as I look at Despotism in the editor, it's set at only 50% tech research rate. Tribalism is set at 70%. I've been on Tribalism since the first couple of turns, changed right away as Breton gets the Tribalism tech to start with. Now how can it be that the other civs are so far ahead in tech research so early even though they're all on an inferior gov't? Huh? How come? Enquiring minds want to know!

OK, I downloaded the little map .zip and looked at it in the editor, and WOW! It's pretty cool.

OK, I just got this (courtesy of DragonBird) and WHOA! It is one of THE coolest scenario's I ever played. Your a natural scenariost.

I agree totally, but here's my suggestions:

Put up a patch with the fixed Beowulf thing. I was real upset when I got that little message, and also don't allow cities to get so big.

Hey LM! You got CAMELOT!. Right on! And thank you & CD for the very gratifying compliments. I'm glad you like it. Makes the time involved in putting it together well worth it.

I only wish that I was able to do things like make units & leaderheads. Still, the Wright Brothers didn't actually make anything new with their Wright Flyer; they took existing technology and just put it together in a way no one else had done before. So maybe I'm like the Wright Bros. of Civ!

Anyway, I do thank you.

LM: Big cities rule.

Azmorg - I ain't no unit maker. Maybe I could make and animate a smiley with a spear. Yeah that would be a good mod. The smiley wars.

Go to post #22.

It's just a matter of changing the pediaicons.txt file entry for the wonder splash.

And this will be fixed in the forthcoming update.

You might consider editing your first post (or whichever one has the download) to include the various patches you've done. If you don't, people who don't read the whole thread are going to miss them.

Yes, or just post a link of which posts have the patches on the first post.

Did immediately after I posted the links on this page.

:goodjob: This looks very good,Downloading it now. Don't know how I didn't notice it until now. This kida reminds me of the movie Excalibur.I loved that movie, now I have to go get a new DVD of it since I don't have a VCR anymore

Very much like Excalibur.
I think the best rendition of the tale in movie form. Although, the recent Arthur is pretty good.
Much better than that silly First Knight with Richard Gere (I was terribly disappointed that Sean Connery participated in that fraud).

Well, yes, there is that. I find myself conflicted between wanting historical accuracy and letting some things go for the sake of the fantasy. I really liked Kiera Knightly's character, but I didn't like that she was supposedly Guenivere. Ah well, would we really want to have our cake and eat it too?

I noticed one other thing. You don't need to copy all of the units you use into the "Units" folder. Just the new ones. Ones like the Warrior, Trebuchet, Scout, Legionary, Archer, Spearman, Swordsman, Galley, Curragh, Armies, Leaders, etc. are already in the game and don't need to be re-placed.

EDIT: Also, if you add ;..\Scenarios\TETurkhan\Art exactly in the Scenario Search Folders under Scenario Properties, you don't need the RB leaderhead.

Good points.
When I constructed the thing I wanted to have all the pertinent pieces in one place. But as I think about it, your ideas would decrease the megs and speed up download time. I'll look at making these changes for the update.
Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em coming.
