Capto Iugulum

To: The Holy See
From: Naples

We will sign a cease fire with the deal we offered, but we wont have a peace treaty until we hear from Sardinia and the Italian Republic. The Republic will not stop trying to unify Italy so to stem their attempts we will do what we must and if you allow them to take your land just for peace we cannot allow this to happen for they will grow to powerful.

In other matters the papal states has joined...

THE LEAGUE OF CONTINENTAL NATIONS

in light of certain imperialists intruding their pale, sun-deprived, fingers into the italian peninsula.

Very well we can agree to that, however only so long as you withdraw from papal lands. Agree to withdraw and we will retract the land for peace deal.

To: Sardinia
From: The United Kingdom

The United Kingdom is still, officially, at war with Sardinia.

On a completely unrelated note, we urge you to accept the Brandenburger proposal.

Brandenburg will, with her noble ally Austria, inform Sardinia and any who would like to dispute the peace Brandenburg proposed, be taking action as per the decleration. It is quite clear the people of Italy wish to be united, and Brandenburg and Austria will ensure that the Italian people will be given that right. All wars between Italian powers will cease immediately, or Brandenburg in conjunction with Austria as per the Potsdam Accord, will ensure the terms of Friedman Proposal

most excellent, the Holy See therefore announces that it is retracting its commitment to ratify through the cession of land the treaty of florence and agrees to a ceasefire with Naples.

To Britain
From the Confederation

We are surprised and delighted with your actions in Italy, and, furthermore, we apologise for being excessively abrupt and suspicious towards you over Italy before. Know that we have no intention of breaking the Treaty of the Tuileries and never have done, and while we are dismayed at finding our reading of it different from yours, we hope that this may be no particular cause of future tensions between our nations.

Brandenburg would like, in order to avoid confusion, declare that Sardinia will NOT be a part of the unified Italian state in the Friedman proposal

To: Brandenburg, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Austria, the Italian Republic
From: Naples

At the current time the only nation we have any problem with in Italy is the Italian Republic. As much as we would like to punish them for their attempts to turn the Italian people, which we have worked so hard to aid, against us we will agree to a cease fire with them if they agree to retract all lies they have spouted about our King and nation.

Spain joins the League of Continental Nations.

Furthermore, we urge Sardinia to sign the Friedman proposal and sign peace with the Allies. The Friedman proposal guarantees its independence, as will certain other treaties which I intend to be signed by League.

To: Brandenburg, Austria, UK of Great Britain and Ireland, The Papal States, the Italian Republic
From: Naples

We would like to ensure that the Pope will be granted freedom to rule and lead the Holy See from Rome even after Italy is united so that the head of our great religion will still have a stable nation and protection in the future.

We would like to ensure that it is known that the Holy See will not agree to any abrogation of temporal sovereignty. We had agreed to cede land to the Republic solely because insodoing at least a circumscribed temporal sovereignty was retained in order to preserve the independence of the Holy See from the manipulation of secular powers. We will not agree to any cession of territory that would put at risk this sovereignty. We furthermore reject any attempts at unification by force.

The Holy See suggests that the italian nationalists take their efforts to the diplomacy table rather than making presumptions, and sowing subversion in sovereign nations.

To Poland, the Polish People
From Russia

We hereby set forth to the people of Poland The Terms of the Russian Occupation

1) Any and all Polish soldiers and sailors who lay down there arms and swear an oath to never again fight against Russia will be allowed to go home unharmed. Those who fail to do so and resist our occupation will be killed without mercy

2) The Polish Fleet will be handed over to the Russian navy. If a captain or crew attempt to scuttle their ship, any and all crew members from that ship will be promptly executed upon reaching shore. The families of any crews that attempt to defect with their ships to another nation will be deported to Siberia to spend the rest of their lives performing forced labor. Sailors would do well to make sure any such actions are not necessary on our part.

3) Any and all technological designs possessed by the Polish government will be handed over to Russia

4) The King of Poland shall abdicate his throne. The King, his family and his court shall go into exile to whatever country will take them. They do so upon the oath that they will not incite rebellion in Poland, attempt to resist Russia's occupation of Poland or ever again lay claim to Poland.

5) The remaining government officials in Poland shall be granted amnesty, so long as they swear not to work against our occupation

6) Those Polish citizens who do not resist our Occupation will be allowed to go about their lives. Those who make trouble will either be deported to Siberia or executed, depending on the severity of their crimes

The proposed borders of the Friedman Proposal for the new Italian State. The Friedman Proposal will go in the following steps

1. The Republic of Italy, The Kingdom of Sardinia, The Holy See, and The Kingdom of Naples will immediately cease their conflict.
2. The militaries of the respective nations will stand down. In the Holy See, and in the lands of Milan, Brandenburg Police Units will be stationed to ensure the stability of the region.
3. In 1909, a plebiscite will be held to determine the government of the united nation of Italy. Observers from Brandenburg will ensure that both the sides of the monarchy and the republic will have a voice in the proceedings.

Brandenburg and Austria will use means at their disposal to ensure that the issue is resolved to the satisfaction of the Friedman Proposal

To: Brandenburg
From: Sardinia

Sardinia admires efforts to bring about peace in Italy, and is aware that Corsica and ourselves would not be involved in your proposal. However, we cannot accept the legality of your plans due to the fact that both Milan and Tuscany are being illegally occupied by the Italian Republic. We also are skeptical that either side would really be willing to give up power in compliance with the election results, but that is besides the point.

To: United Kingdom
From: Sardinia

Sardinia does not consider itself to be at war with you, and as we have no recollection of a declaration of war upon us we must assume that this is simply a ploy to pressure us into compliance with your Italian policy. Sardinia will continue to reject Brandenburg's proposal, but will maintain our cease fire agreements with both sides. We hope that Britain will end her bluff and her supposed war against Sardinia, but our navy will remain on alert and respond to any attack against us.

To: Brandenburg
From: The Holy See

The above borders proposed by Brandenburg are unnacceptable to the Holy See and we will not cede our sovereign land in the manner propositioned in this proposal, likewise we refuse to stand down our military and recieve Brandenburg Police Units, for to do so would be an abrogation of sovereignty and be totally unnacceptable in consideration of recent circumstances. Furthermore as before, we reject absolutely any use of force in violation of the sovereign rights of nations to impose a unified Italian State on the peninsula as per the bidding of foreign powers.

To: Those involved with Italy

If the Pope is unwilling to attend the Friedman Proposal for a Unified Italy then our whole idea for a cease fire is for no avail. If they do not agree to the Friedman Proposal and wish for a united Italy, with ensuring the Pope can rule Rome, then we cannot agree to a cease fire. Italy will be united either by force or the Friedman Proposal.

To: Brandenburg
From: Naples

We can agree to the proposed borders for the Italian State.

To: Sardinia
From: The United Kingdom

Any clerical error with our supposed declaration of war can be clarified if the need arises.

We are willing to attend, we are unwilling to have a foreign proposal imposed upon us. Furthermore we note that if Naples retracts its ceasefire we are more than willing to reaffirm the Treaty of Florence.
