Sardinia again reiterates that a cease fire has already been in affect with both Naples and the Italian Republic, and our protests against the illegal Friedman Proposal are just that.

Sardinia has never considered herself to be at war with any of the Allies. At the outbreak of the Great War, we had strongly suggested that the Brazilian fleet remain in Naples, hoping to prevent them from carrying out the raiding that we knew they were planning. However, we did not threaten war. When our fleet left port to sail to Naples and destroy the Neopolition fleet (as we were warring at the time), three of our screening ships were sunk by the Brazilian fleet. While we do not know whether it was a Sardinian or Brazilian ship that launched hostilities, we do know that no orders were given to these ships to fire upon the Brazilians. In fact, it would have be sheer stupidity to order squadron of only three ships to engage an entire fleet, which further backs our point. The following year, we hunted down the Brazilian fleet to extract revenge for our sunken ships. The fact that Hungarian and Arabian ships were also sunken during the engagement is no fault of our own, as both had plenty of prior knowledge of the upcoming battle and choose to engage us alongside the Brazilians.
Now, Sardinia recognizes its partial fault in this matter, which may have been caused by a trigger-happy captain. As such, we are more than willing to pay reparations to the nation of Brazil. Britain has nothing to gain from war against Sardinia, unless your true goal is to annex Sardinia into an Italian state, something a majority of Europe opposes. Furthermore, if your aim is to force us to agree to the Friedman Proposal, as it seemed initially, we direct you to the piece of diplomacy above this one.
