Anyone else shocked? Do you agree with the verdict?

I am shocked, myself, but the prosecution was sloppy. I still disagree with the verdict, but the prosecution sucked.

Not shocked at all. The prosecution got outlawyered. The only good thing about this is seeing Nancy Disgrace changing everything she was saying right before the verdict came down.

My big shock is that she was found not guilty on all 3 of the main charges. Not guilty of murder I can see, due to the sloppy prosecution as you pointed out. But manslaughter seemed almost sure and aggravated child abuse seemed 100% sure. The fact that she was found not guilty of both of those is absolutely mind boggling, I still can't quite get my head around it.

Couldn't agree with you more on this. I mean, she was partying when her child was missing! What the hell? She looks like she's having a hell of a time here.
Even if she didn't kill the child she should get the chair for not caring about the girl while she was "missing". She definitely should have been guilty for neglecting her child.

It's time for cfc to be the major deciding factor in big trials. The rest of the public is incapable of doing it. The prosecution had to be sloppy. Certainly some bimbo 25 year-old didn't intimidate any jurors into voting in her favor.

I can't wait for Thursday when they'll sentence her for lying to investigators. Hopefully she can get a few years for that.

The prosecutors could have got a plea bargain on those lesser counts, but rolled the dice. Because of the case's high profile and the inane shriekings of hotheads like Nancy Disgrace, perhaps a plea bargain wasn't possible becuase of PR. In other words, I blame Nancy Disgrace for the killer going free.

Another scumbag gets off with a slap on the wrist. Looks like America has another murderer walking the streets.

The OJ Simpson club just got one new member.

Perfect time for this guy....

You don't take an entirely circumstantial murder case to trial. I agree that the evidence is overwhelming and that, yes, this woman probably murdered her child, but I cannot say to myself, "There is the evidence that proves she murdered her child." I think she did it and her provable actions, after the child went missing, would have caused me to find her guilty, but you don't take this to trial. The prosecution wanted their time in the spot-light and on TV to make a name for themselves. Now they have.

From what I've heard, there are 4 charges of that each carrying a maximum sentence of 1 year, and she's already been in prison for almost 3 years at this point, so the chance of her seeing any more time is slim.

I will happily blame her for anything and everything that I can!

Cheney Mason was the best lawyer in the case. I liked his smackdown of the lawyer/pundits during the post-trial press conference.

She'll walk. The maximum sentence is one year per charge, ususually served concurrently, not consecutively. She has spent two years incarcerated, so it will be time served or parole.

I advocate her being thrown in solitary confinement for crimes against humanityanyone within earshot of a television, and that was before this trial.

Not too surprised. Reasonable doubt is a powerful thing. Prosecution should have plea bargained.

Has anyone determined the whereabouts of Nancy Disgrace at the time of the murder?

Which murder? She doth protesteth so much, I think she might be guilty of any number of them.

Want to elaborate on this at all? And on "outlawyered?" I didn't follow the trial at all, but I'm curious to hear your post-game wrap-up.
