Did the vet check the teeth for signs of decay or infection? Normally the cat has noticeably bad breath when that happens.
Yes. Quite how they know whether a tooth has tooth decay or not just by looking i have no idea. Dentists cant tell by looking at human teeth just by looking so i dont really see why cats are easier. The only thing that makes me think its unlikely tooth decay is that he is only 5 years old. And we feed him biscuit which is supposed to be good for teeth. He does eat the occasional mouse though. Although to my knowledge they are not of the sugared variety
