Cats and Kittens

One of mine is death on legs. Caught multiple birds on same day cleared out some nice from the neighbors. The other one completely useless.

By that time I was ready to report them for neglect, because this was a chronic thing by that point. The cat was getting neurotic from living in an apartment with three young screaming children and two adults constantly yelling, and had started taking her frustrations out on my screen door (I informed the manager here that I would absolutely not be paying to replace it).

Ours used to chase off other cats but he seems to be mellowing with age. Sometimes the neighborhood cats come over for a party and they hang out. They seem to defer to Lord Mooch.
 
If they had the amazon mini-cat for sale I would get one, not sure how it would handle an urban environment as its evolution is for the amazon and it never grows any larger
Its like a kitten that will never grow large and always remain cute

Tabby with white common as dirt. Probably more common than pure tabby.

I adopted her as she had been at the SPCA the longest and the other females may have been cuter but they'll get adopted easy.

I went back the following week and the other ones we liked all got adopted so I took the cat no one else wanted.

One was a silver tabby, a pure black one, and a grey and white one with a hello kitty collar.

Hello kitty sat on our laps as well, Ember kinda his but came out after a few minutes. Looked into her eyes "adopt me please". I was doomed. Haven't had a kitten since 1989.

This place isn't entirely Maddy-proof, never mind kitten-proofing (they can get into some very small spaces, and haven't yet learned that chewing electrical cords is a Very Bad Idea).

Heated floors can be a cheap way. You need much cooler water to do your central heating through heated floors than radiators, so you can do it with for example a heat pump.

When we lived in NC we heated our floors with a wood stove. They were very nice. We had 8 cats at the time.

In our case it was copper tubing embedded beneath a slate floor. Our wood stove had internal tubing that connected to the floor and a pump that moved the hot water from the stove through the floor. Crank up the stove, switch on the pump and the floors warmed so nicely. Once warmed they retained the heat pretty well too.

With 8 cats, that setup in the video I showed would be ideal. The maintenance must have been considerable for 8 cats, though. All that kitty litter waste disposal, all that feeding, all that need to provide amenities, etc.

No kitty liter at all. We had a cat door and all the cats could go out any time they wanted. Our house was on five acres of woodland that had been fields 70 years or so before. So all the trees were big oaks and hickories with an understory of dogwood and redbud. My wife has pics somewhere of all of them eating together. They all liked to sleep on our bed too, so things were crowded at night. :D
