You did a good thing, Zardnaar. :yup:

He's turned into an awesome cat. He is friendly, playful, sits on laps and curls up on the bed. Never even sprayed inside even when he was a tom cat.

Sister in law has fallen hard for him lol.

Seems to be an American cat, but it's definitely not a puma!

Who decided that would be what they would try to do? Shall we try and overcome cancer, or world hunger? No, let us dedicate this laboratory to overcoming a puma's fear of firearms, that will make the world a better place.

Big night for Stoney. His first large family gathering of 13 include 3 kids.

Lots of pats incoming and play time.

Pooped kitteh.

:whew:Dodged a bullet there. You could have wound up with a terrified kitten cowering in the laundry room.
Some cats are comfortable around kids, and some aren't. My first cat somewhat tolerated the neighbor kids, but by and large, none of my cats were ever fans of anyone younger than me.

The first time a typing client had brought her kid with her, my Tomtat stared at him. The whole time they were there. The kid kept pestering his mother: "Mom, that cat's staring at me.... it's still staring at me... Moooom!"

I finally said, "He's staring at you because the only kids he's ever seen have been outside on the sidewalk. I don't have kids, so you're the first one he's ever seen inside. He's not quite sure what you are." I then told the kid that as long as he didn't approach my cat or try to pet him, everything would be fine. The cat wouldn't hurt him, but would probably get scared and run away.

One night I nearly kicked one of my typing clients out of my house because she brought her kids with her - and proceeded to pay no attention to them as they scared my cats (running toward Tomtat and screaming "KITTY!" and chasing after him when he took off and ran upstairs to hide) and got into my stuff - including a very sharp craft knife I used to cut plastic for my 3D needlepoint projects. I actually got cut trying to take the knife away from the girl who had it (not a bad cut, fortunately, but still...). I did tell her not to bring her kids back when she came to pick up her paper, as they had not behaved. That was the one and only time I had that client, and good riddance. Apparently it's unreasonable of me to expect clients' kids to behave in my house.

NOBODY gets to harass or scare or be mean to my cats. :trouble:

That was 25 years ago. And now? When I know someone is coming over, I ask if they have a cat allergy. If they do, I'll shut Maddy in the room where her litter box is. If they don't, they don't get to complain about her (she lives here too), and I watch Maddy's body language carefully. If she seems comfortable around the person, fine. If not, then I discourage any contact (people like to pet her, as she gives the impression of a miniature black panther). But since the pandemic, I don't allow people to touch her.

When introduced to a dog or cat, my personal rule is I can't touch them until they first touch me.

 Awhile back, Irish had a birthday during lockdown. I was surprised when a group of co-eds showed up to celebrate with her. [Tho it was a little bit illegal, I did not protest this invasion of young ladies. :eekdance: ] Thinking back, I don't recall any of my four cats being there. :(:(:(:(

Had a pretty good idea he would be fine. His terror phase lasted around 24 hours or less and he is fine with strangers and other cats.

Although since the adoption apparently he associates the property as "his" now as a stray he didn't seem to care to much.

He has also handled a rambunctious 7 yo fine.

@Valka D'Ur thank you for your advice. Zards sister in laws place not to bad. Food, warmth and a yard. I'll tolerate these humans for the moment and grace them with my presence.
