Caveman 2 Cosmos

ONCE YOU PUT IT INTO THE MODS FOLDER, AND TRIED TO START A NEW GAME, HOW LONG DID YOU wait FOR THE ACTUAL GAME TO START? (Sorry had my caps on, i am not yelling)

btw Welcome to CFC and this Great mod, C2C.

Thanks, I'm glad someone made something like this!

Waited like half an hour or so, went to make a sandwich, played a lot of mods so I know sometimes they need A LOT of time to load :)

It's quite strange, just installed on another computer, also windows 8, and it works fine

How do I change the city artstyle for a Civ? Also, why does the city layout change every turn?

You have more than one, good for you. I really think it might be a Windows 8 thing. I haven't heard too much of good for non-windows usage of products.

The only reason i can think of why the city plots are changing is because you added a new building or structure in that city.

See attached for cityartsyle change. Just make sure it an approved replacement name.

When making a change like this make sure you always have another copy of the mod you are changing, just to make sure something doesnt go wrong, then you have to DL again.

No, it changes every turn. It's still a collection of huts, but I've seen this in other games with more advanced cities. Obviously this shouldn't be a priority for you, but I'm just a bit curious as to what might be causing this. And I also forgot to ask; what happens after a Civ runs out of available names? Does it randomize them?

Using c2c v 27, a game in the late ancient era. I have noticed this strange behaviour and I want to ask if it's normal.

I have seen quite a few great people being born for the ai in this game, mostly prophets, artists, generals. But I think I have seen only ONE golden age, maybe.I' m not even sure about that.

Is this normal? Are all these great people being born on other continents, and so I'm not notified of the golden age because I don't know the civ? Or maybe, does the ai tend to settle more great people as great specialists now? Because in the other games I had with c2c, though the versions were much older, I did see quite a few golden ages.... And now I'm not even sure there was one...

Have you checked to see if the OPTIONS for it has been UN-checked in the "LadyBug" icon ? I made changes in the UserSettings, because alot and i mean alot of people were complaining about buildings and units of the like, so i changed them, for newer people that dont know HOW to or really dont want to mess with changing things in the Options areas. Must have worked because we have had NO complaints about these areas now.

I think it gets a random Civ that is not in play and then uses their list of names. It explains why my Egyptian nation was suddenly building Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, etc ;)

I am sorry, I looked through all the menus of the Bug mod options, and I cannot find any entry that refers to golden ages or great people.

What exactly should I check?

I think SO is a bit confused - there is no option that stops the AI from starting golden ages! There must be something wrong with the AI if they are not having them.

So, forgive me if I ask again but... should I be seeing golden ages even of civilizations I do not know of?

How can I check if my game is, so to speak, buggered? At the beginning I was not paying attention to it, for obvious reasons, but I'm sure in the last 500 turns (on snail )there have been no golden ages, though at least 20-30 great people have been born.

Is it really possible that the AI settled them all in cities? granted, maybe 40% of them were great generals, but still...

Should I maybe post a savegame? The game is working correctly apart from this, but I find it really strange, at least compared to my other games with older versions of the mod

No. Any Civilization you have not had contact with will not show you their Golden Ages start or end.
Only those you have contact with will do that.

Cheers

That's horrible. I'm on a gigantic size map right now, so I might find myself at risk of this when the Civs begin to spread.

Also, when is v28 being released?

Just killed a Great Merchant on a trade mission with an Ambusher. I've never escorted my trade missions and while I can learn to do so, maybe the AI can't/hasn't.

Why are there even trade units before Writing (assuming you play with minor civs, which most people do)?

How has the AI terrain damage been improved in v27? Im asking because in my v26 game the ai seems to be running their troops to death pointlesly in large damaging areas. They don't seem to know when to stop and heal.

Yes, somewhat. It should have been vastly improved between 25 and 26, but I did some stuff for it as well between 26 and 27. If it persists in V27 please post a save in the bugs/crashes thread so that myself or someone else can debug it.

I am running Windows 8, I have not had one single issue playing C2C, I had a game going when I upgraded. It loads right up super fast and plays excellent, I use an SSD drive and that helps a lot with this game. :D

Hope everyone can get C2C to work, it is like an expansion not a Mod, it is that good! ;)

I came on here looking for an update, I have more fun playing with the new stuff you guys toss in and exploring and of course empire building then anything else.

Hello.
I got this mod 3 months ago, and I just love the amount of options available in the game. There's so much to manage in the game. Things such as managing crime and pollution levels really make the game complex, which I simply adore. Though games can take long. I started a game on snail last month, and I'm still on 3990 BC. That's most probably because I take a few turns here and there, and don't do a full sitting, but I'd have to say, great job :goodjob:.

Though I do have some minor concerns and questions:

1.) How does the "Advanced Economy" option work? I'm not sure what it is supposed to do.

2.) Resource depletion. Not that I don't like seeing a mammoth in 4000 BC, but how exactly do resources run out?

3.) The amount of religions in the game is interesting, but I suspect a problem where dominant religions are the earlier ones, such as shamanism, druidism, etc, and the rest are just regional, like vanilla civ. I suspect that those early religions have a faster decay rate, because they really were not "organized religions" in a sense, and mostly regional.

4.) I have a feeling that rebel forces are simply too weak. They frequently occur, but get put down a bit too easily, or if they don't, they're usually at the lower end of the scoreboard, possessing one city (That takes ages to grow) and never really posing a threat to anyone else. Though I am playing at Noble difficulty, so that's probably the reason why.

Overall, good job, I'm really enjoying this mod.
