Caveman 2 Cosmos

TB will you be working on reducing the number of Civs in the near future?

That is before version 35.

If so I will delay posting a new SEM map, that only uses standard Civs. - thanks to the work done by Strategyonly.

I hope you changed alot around, that way you can have alot of "fake" civs, withOUT actually putting them ingame:mischief: That goes for LH's and flags also.

Yes... next code update which could be today.

I really dislike this idea but accept that it is a quick fix for the next release.

I seem to have RL back under control, except for the head cold I caught yesterday. This means I should be able to start on the stuff I still have to do for the next release tomorrow. This should hopefully allow us to aim for v35 going out next week some time.

I did post 142 & 143 with all that religion, missionaries etc etc and other stuff in it already that Rwn made. I might have missed some it was aloooot up stuff to do.

The core exe that we cannot manipulate limits us to the point that it's probably unwise to ever have a max player count above 35, moreso in this mod than any because we're pushing the boundaries everywhere else as well.

Well being a scenario- they are all in game.

I did not change much (yet) - just auto played about 30 turns for each Civ. But over time, I will play each effected Civ (only 5 if I remember correctly) and update as needed. Some LH's and flags are in the custom civ files so can not be used.

Though thinking about it, I should check for duplicates (LH's and flags) and replace them with other nations not used in the game.

e.g. Tupi could be given Spanish flag etc. Consider on todo list.

Well at least at the moment players will be able to play the map without worrying about overwriting folders etc. Which I think is the point. It can be an Earth map in the SVN.

how I can do a screenshot if I'm in full screen?

BTW:

in between I'm running fine the continuation of the sav that crashed because memory limit.
Even with high resolution grafic settings and animations and effects ON.

have done ~ 25 more turns w/o any problem. But no real Idea what was the dirrerence between the former installations and my last way.
Maybe a full content file compare would give an answer.

But overall it shows, that not any CTD because memory allocation is an .exe thing that is not to manage. The memory allocation error is a result of the scripts, minimum in that one case, and so it is to fix. Otherwise my sav now would not be able to continue.

I'm looking for a way to make the vram amd ram usage visible while in game with full screen, and how to do a scrreenshot.

Then open Paint (if you do not have any other software) and press Ctrl - V.

Quick question, how do you build Sea Tunnels? I have it enabled, and i have civil engineering as well. Can't get the option to build a tunnel :P

You really should not need to do this. It ought to just put the screenshot in the screenshots folder. That would be someplace like "My Games\Beyond the Sword\ScreenShots".

for the current SVN, what is the biggest Earth map working fine with ~ 40 ancient civs w/o memory allocation error and other crash?

And from where I can download it?

I remember, in RoM AND there had been some maps little bit smaller bur working fine. The GEM here with 1801 KB of the sav is fine but probably over the limit.

in RoM there was a GEM with sav of 1691 KB and the RFC with 727 KB

But have no idea how to convert to C2C.

And, as you removed the GEM in last SVN but deliver no alternative working map, all looks obsolete.

Obviously go to the "Map" thread:

this is not the answer I'm looking for.

There are "Standard" and "Gem" only (wirh reports of CTDs) , and GEM has the problems because it is no longer in SVN.

It looks like nobody has a working map bigger than Standard but less than GEM. The maps attached for RoM AND not to find for C2C

You are correct there are no Earth Type maps with preset Civs besides the SEM for C2C right now.

All those that made the GEM and SEM type maps (with the exception of harrier) no longer are making them.

This is not the answer you want either but you will either have to make you own, or use a non Earth type map.

There's still work being done to fix the GEM apparently but no map will have over 35 civs allowed after this coming release. (without a special dll that will no longer be supported.)
