CCM2 Epic Mod

Possible bug here.

Started a game with Nubia. The wonder "Black Pyramids" states that it "triggers the Golden Age for Nubia". However this did now happen...

jlvfr I will have a look at this problem when I have the time for it.

jlvfr, thank you very much for reporting this error. :) The Black Pyramids had a wrong trait (industrious instead of expansionistic). This is now corrected for the next version of the CCM2.50 biq.

I also thought it was RRAR causing this issue, but it seems to be CCM2. When my units engage in combat, the game will freeze when one of them goes to die and play the animation.

I see the same thing on my machine. As far as I can tell, it has to do with managing computer resources -- I'm using a really old computer to run Civ, and I often have Firefox (resource hog) running at the same time.

Similarly, I'll often see the screen freeze or go white during the IBT. My only advice is to try rebooting your computer, then start Civ and *only* Civ. That might help.

...or to play on an up to date pc or laptop. I never ran into these problems. :)

I've never had a "freeze on death", and I play in 3 diferent machines with very diferent setp ups; one of them is 6 years old...

"Don't buy a new PC just to play CCM" :crazyeye:

@jlvfr, Oh, then I guess it's not a real problem since you haven't seen it on your machine.

My machine is over 10 years old (yes, it's a complete dinosaur). Please consider that others have different setups and experiences than you.

My desktop is almost 8 years old and I haven't wanted to upgrade for fears of incompatibility for some of the old programs I use and old games I play.

The only game freezes I've had are between turns, but then I just wait a couple mns and it comes back...

Elephantium, your white screens in the CCM succession games are legendary and I made a joke about it some times ago. Nevertheless I highly appreciate your reports and good inputs about CCM and your great engagement in these succession games. To define a 'bottom power limit' when CCM2.50 can be played 'with oh and no', I´m curious about the processor, the version of windows and the ram of your legendary old laptop.

Sure Civinator,

My Civ laptop has a pair of Core 2 Duos, P8700 @ 2.53GHz. 2 GB of RAM. Windows 7. Oh, and a spinning HDD (I suspect that SSD would help)

I don't see the white screen business early in the CCM succession games, maybe around the time Age of Discovery starts.

Elephantium, congrats on holding this new record in running CCM on the most 'undermotorized' pc. :trophy: I was only able to run CCM on my very old 2.63 GHz pc under WinXP and of course an old HDD, too without any bigger problems up to the end of era 2. Or is here anybody in this forum who can break Elephantium´s record ?

Yeah, you are worse off than I (though barely)! AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.01 Ghz with 4 GB RAM on Windows 10 with 10k RPM spinning disks...

Hey, it was a pretty fine laptop...back in 2010!

I ran XP on it for a long time. It didn't seem worth trying to switch to Windows 10 even when MS was doing the "won't you please upgrade, sir?" thing.

FWIW, I keep my Java at V.8 to make certain @Quintillus' editor will work (although I believe that he mentioned that some later versions work, as well.)

Dunno if this has been reported...

Astro-Hungary: the naval unit "Zenta". The folder is called "Zenta class", the INI "zenta class.ini" but game is set for "Zenta" (and zenta.ini). I renamed folder & file and works.

Hi jlvfr, the error with the Zenta Class was fixed with CCM 2.50 one year ago (please see here top 11). In that fix the folder and the INI of that unit were renamed to Zenta. May be an old individual fix of that old error in your files now was triggering for you that error again.

Edit: While speaking about CCM 2.50 one year ago:
CCM 2 now has more than 1800 downloads in a little more than one year. Thank you all for your interest in this mod! :)

No, it is not. :D With that fix the pediaicons animations entry was changed to:

zenta-jpg.579750

This means that a unit with the folder name Zenta (and the same INI) will be used in the game for a unit with the PRTO entry PRTO_Zenta Class.
This is a highly efficient method for using existing CCM units in other mods and scenarios with other names and PRTO entries for that unit. Per example with the next version of the CCM2.50 expansion this method allows, that the scenarios SOE and WW2 Global Gold can be played, too, by using many hundreds of CCM2.50 expansion files (needing only a very small additional folder for the different techtree graphics and the text files of those scenarios).

Per example a Königstiger tank in SOE with the pediaicons entry PRTO_G173_Tiger2_Henschel can use the CCM 2 graphics and sounds of that tank with the following pediaicons entry:

Hi Civinator. Were you able to include the no city limit/no unit limit/no city razing in your mod?

Haka, welcome at CFC ! :band:[party]

Exes with these patches can start the CCM2.50 expansion of C3C independently from the Antal1987 exe, that is attached with the CCM 2.50 download.
Tsubasanut made the newest of these exes, based on the Antal1987 exe 4, but on my demand without the NCL part, as the NCL part has some bad "issues".
You can find the Tsubasanut exe here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ccm2-epic-mod.625812/page-32#post-15755612

An older version of the Tsubasanut exe including the NCL part can be found here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ccm2-epic-mod.625812/page-14#post-15439894 But be warned! When testing it, I run into severe memory problems during the game, the number of additional cities is limited and additionally only working for the human player. The same problems arise with older versions of exes with an NCL part (knuckles and friends).

Patches including a No-Raze part (first created by skyer2) in my eyes are suited better for scenarios based on a fixed map, especially historical scenarios. For mods with random maps (as it is CCM) in my eyes an exe without a No-Raze part is fitting better, as in games with random maps, the decision for the AI to raze a city sometimes is a better solution for the AI.

The big hour for the Tsubasanut exe will come with the next version of CCM for starting the reworked SOE and WW2 Global scenarios (both connected to the CCM 2.50 expansion of C3C), as these scenarios (of course) have fixed maps and they will be started with the best exe available for scenarios with fixed maps and in my eyes this is the Tsubasanut exe. For the comeback of these both highly demanded and massively upgraded WW2 scenarios, still a lot of work is needed. In the next version of the reworked SOE scenario Tsubasanut has a special 'city of honour' as a thank you for his great work on that exe.
Spoiler :

Haka, if you want to play CCM2.50 at present with the Tsubasanut exe (or another version of the No-Raze exes), simply copy that exe in the C3C mainfolder, that holds the CCM 2.50 expansion files and start the game with that exe instead of the Antal1987 exe.
