this pick is what we call "Getting too cute for no reason"

Actually I thought you might be on to something...until somehow the high flying KC offense became the first one in a long time to just play right through the weather. Mahomes just doesn't seem to care about the slick ball or much of anything else.

There also wasn't NEARLY as much snow as I expected. From what I'd read yesterday I thought it'd be snowing hard throughout the game, not like a blizzard but tough conditions. Apparently it almost all dumped before the game and got cleaned up. I should've actually double-checked today.

Yeah but this wasn’t even close. Do you really think it would have made THAT much of a difference ?

I mean it could have, which is why I made the pick in the first place. It's a completely different game when there's metric asstons of snow falling from the sky and all over the field. I knew there was no way the Colts could beat the Chiefs' offense straight-up because literally no one else has

That said, it was probably just not smart not pick against Mahomes in that case anyway because that man is a wizard

A large part of what made the game not close is the Chiefs defense rising to the occasion more than they have just about all season. If one of the teams offense was affected by the weather more than the other, then either way one of these teams were clearly superior to the other.

I ignored the snow possibility because I figured if there was enough to stop the Chiefs it would also stop the Colts, and went with the 'Andy Reid coming off a bye week' principle.

Well not "literally"* no one else, since the Pats, Rams, Seahawks, and arguably the Chargers all out-offense'd the Chiefs' offense... the Rams in particular.

*(but I guess maybe "literally" as IIRC the actual/original meaning of "literally" is the opposite of its conventional/contemporary usage. How that happened I'm sure I don't know.)

They still put up huge points against everyone except San Diego
"Everyone"? I don't know if I'd say they put up "huge" points against the Broncos, Cardinals or Ravens... I mean the average winning score in the NFL is 23 and the Chiefs didn't break 30 against any of those teams.

40 and 50 plus is "huge"... in the 20s is pretty pedestrian.

Congrats on the Saints advancing BTW.

I guess I should have worded it better, I meant "slow them down enough that the other offense can be average and win". They still put up huge points against everyone except San Diego

[nitpick] The Cardinals held them to their lowest point total of the year IIRC. [/nitpick].
