Cheat-free ZWK PBEM

Got even less there. :(

Axis in dire straights in 1939, hard too believe...

You have no idea how hard it is when there's a human French player. He gets to sell off almost ever single improvement in Poland and Reims and then rush-buy an air force as big as mine! I see it every time and there's no way to stop it.

I'd be in of course, but just the Soviets this time. And maybe no French player to give the Axis player a break. :crazyeye:

Finished the liberation of baltic states

It is kind of silly, I'm pumping out spitfires and wellington bombers every turn. I really do have an enormous airforce.

Paris recaptured and many German forces destroyed nearby. We could probably do with a cash gift so I can rebuild my capital.

Well, that's the end of my ENTIRE WESTERN ARMY AND AIR FORCE. You heard it here folks, this game is definitely already over. I'll continue if you guys want to be amused by watching France conquer Germany, so be it.

Looking at this game and every other one with a human France, I know now that they should never have a human player. They just get to scrap a bunch of improvements and buy an airforce bigger than mine; very realistic. :(

Anyhow, the turn:

- Strasbourg burned to the ground, Paris emptied.

- Sarajevo captured.

- Greece begins to experience the horror of this war as numerous targets are destroyed by the Luftwaffe.

So, whats the plan?

Let's just continue, maybe I can build enough forces to win in attrition. Plus I still have a good hand in the Balkans. I've thought out a lot of possibilities, and this could still be pretty even.

When I play as Axis with my friends, I never attack the low countries (since the Allies/Minor Allies can't either). I go through the Maginot Line. Would that be more viable against a human French Player. Also, can't you scrap your own improvements to get an even bigger airforce?

Well you know that's completely different, they were selling valuable improvements just because I was going to inevitably take the Polish cities and they wanted to make sure I wouldn't get to use them.

And that's an interesting idea about the Low Countries. However I don't even consider going through the Maginot Line because my troops are already positioned to take Holland and Belgium in the first turn. It would take several turns to remobilize to and attack from the south, and as you know every turn counts in the conquest of France. If you take your time then the human player will build huge airforces, not to mention that the Allies would get the War Adjustment tech before you are finished, and you'd be screwed over by a bunch of French AA guns.

Yes, Germany can't afford to wait. It only takes a few turns for France to buy a huge airforce. Germany can't afford to sell all their improvements either because if they do, although they'll easily beat France, they won't have any economy left to fight the Allies and Russians. I think maybe a 'house rule' should be added. Perhaps France cannot sell any improvements for the first 1-3 turns?

Here's how I look at it. The French lost because they were tactically inferior - using their tanks as widely spaced infantry support vehicles instead of massing them etc. If the human French player has better tactics, well that's life. ZWK is not about replicating history, its about making history (wow, that sounded so profound).

p.s. Point taken about the requirement for speed.

Point taken, but that still makes for a short game. ;)
