I support a sub forum on Civ3 forum.
Just less confusing than 1 only thread, but not like an entire forum right now...

Actually I wanted to complain and complement Civ3 in this forum. There are a number of things about Civ3 I don't want to see changed in any fundamental way, and a post about that would certainly not be "complaining." There were also a few things I didn't want to see changed in any fundamental way with Civ2, but Firaxis did it anyway, in some cases for the worse (IMHO). I don't know how interested the developers are in what the market desires, but at least a sub-forum would allow us all to trick ourselves into thinking they know and care.Originally posted by superslug
A Civ4 thread is a place we can suggest various ideas for the game. If there were to be a whole forum opened right now, it wouldn't really be a springboard for ideas so much as a spamfest for well dressed complaints with what people see wrong with III...maybe even I and II for that matter since there's some that didn't jump to III.
The developers have specifically informed the moderators here that they are not interested at this time in such a forum, which would make it's existence, well, delusional in purpose.Originally posted by Kilroy

As soon as the developers state that such a forum would be of assistance to them, I'll go from opposed to openly supportive of it.

Some vocal ones for sure, but not most, at least not according to the polls I've seen here in Feedback.Originally posted by MarineCorps
However most people still will be asking for a civ4 forum even throught the devolpers don't want one.![]()
I honestly think the more common (if unspoken) question is why can't we leave well enough alone?Originally posted by MarineCorps
I do belive that it has replaced "why can't I search" as the most common Q now.![]()

I have to disagree with your two final points, MarineCorps:

Well, if there's more people against a Civ4 forum than for it, as there also seems to be a majority of opposition to adding the also proposed Politics and other forums, then I think the majority of people are basically asking "Why change anything at all?"Originally posted by MarineCorps

Different people? Is that the politically correct terminology for compulsive spammers these days?Originally posted by MarineCorps
...to different people.

We should wait till about a year before Civ4 comes out, then we begin a Civ4 part of the forum. It's the best in my opinion...
