Civ 6 AI Battle Royal

Well, Russia, Spain and Japan basically failed.

Ugh, that new Japanese city. All tundra.

I can't figure out the score screen. Highest score (preferred) or alphabetical. Not...neither.

Woo.. Brazil wins AI battles often. So..., as the AI programmer, have you looked into that?

Yeah, I can't figure that out either. Essentially the Aztecs and Russia found the natural wonder furthest from them and settled it, rather than the closest one. That seems wrong.

And japan just flashed by, ignoring the barbarians at their capital, despite having a chariot sitting their.

And I see some city state unit spam...

Don't like Gorgo's map color. It does not stand out on the map.

i've seen it happen in a lot of early acces lets plays even if there is no natural wonder AI wil just settle a city right next to the player or AI instead of putting cities close to their capital or good land that is near its capital whats up wit that? I know you want Ai to battle against player but program it to forward settle it just is wrong because it hurts them.

olso Ai is way to agressive in my opinion even peaceful AI atack city states

I suppose it was a design choice - basically, they wanted to give Russia an early GP bonus and the two early districts are Campus and Holy Site. I suspect they decided that a unique Campus would just be too OP.

You would think, though, that the bonuses would kick in at a later date. Russian culture really kicked off in the 1800's.

Also, why not go for an Industrial Zone replacement in the form of a Soviet (worker council)? Could have culture bonuses, and/or bonuses to and from adjacent spacepads.

Whatever that Russian AI is doing it doesn't make sense on any level.

They really need "distance from nearest city" as a weighting factor for settling locations (both for defense and for time to reach it and get the city going)

Because they don't want Russia = USSR in a game where Russia can have any government type.

The lead AI programmer just said Brazil has won the most AI Battle Royales, and Rome and Russia are two other "top tier" civs.

How about upgrading youre units AI its renaissance era and i haven't seen a lot of pikemen or musketmen

Twitch stopped working for me.

Doesn't have to be Russia = USSR, they do have other Russian aspects after all (religious stuff from Tundra, expansionism, etc.). A Soviet would be a good nod to the Soviet era though.

I suppose the "trick" with Russia is that it can ignore building Theatre Districts but still become a strong contender for late game Cultural victory, when all its great works start to accumulate Tourism - and until then catch up culturally in terms of civics through Peter's special ability.
except that you can't build great works without slots (and almost all slots for nonRelic Great Works are in the theater square...except for 1 in the palace, and in the Cathedral worship building...and a few wonders)

oh my look at those legions imagine that on deity thats just game over

They've kinda stopped though. They're just hanging around Antium rather than attacking the Japanese.
And the aztecs are industrial already... legions are hardly relevant overall.

And Spain is just failing at barbarians.

The tech level of the AI units doesn't really seem to ever match the era they're actually in...

Seems like Russia built an archeologist and it's just been sitting in the capital not doing anything.

Holy moly, that's some quick teching. Industrial era 1120.
isn't that bad i've seen marborzir and quil18 do the same.. Eureka bonusses are just to powerfull they need to nerve it.

Olso why doesn't Ai upgrade their units still see some warriors and classical era units

Thats because the Ai doesn't upgrade their units from all the streams i've watched looks like the Ai just doesn't do it.. Renaissance era no corsbowman units that just wierd and no pikeman?
