Civ Design Challenge III - Alternate History

Natan, alternate history does not mean radically different. Hell, you can have different things happen and similar results to our world. Alternate history just means that something, even quite small, panned out.

I didnt say it doesn't fit the challenge!!! Omg, can't I point things out\ share my opinion for discussion's sake? All I said is that I interpreted the challenge in a different way. Didn't say there anything wrong with Scott's idea.

Let's not bicker, everyone. =]

Shouldn't we have started the vote now?

I vote for Howard. While I think scapegrace and Urdnot have superb back stories, I... Well, 3unique5me

I vote for Howard.
Also, this is inspiring me to possibly do series of What-If Civilizations, because that'd be awesome.

What if Russia successfully invaded Japan in WW2, and it split like North/South Korea or East/West Germany?

What if the Roman Empire lasted longer, adopting gunpowder technology?

just some ideas.
Its got endless possibilities and it will really fix my issue of not finding a unique Civ to design.

Yeah, see, those scenarios have the problem of requiring a very complex change in history. Roman empire surviving longer, in particular, is a disgrace, since they basically created their enemy(Goths).

Might wanna reword that since just about every civilization may have created or re-invented their own enemies at some point or another.

Anyway, I vote for Urdnot.

Like Israel with Hama's or America with the Taliban.....

You're missing the point of alternate history. It doesn't make sense, because if it did make sense it would of happened. You just need to forget stuff like "but that can't happen because of this" and just go with whatever mad fiction someone wants to do.
Maybe i'll do a "Hitler builds a time machine and becomes Emperor of Rome". XD

I think that the best scenarios are those that change the outcome of certain wars\ battles and cause a large change, while allowing to focus on areas out of the challenge's scope.

(Like what I did with the last challenge)

Bandwagoning? Shome mishtake shurely! Howard Tafty's Principality of Theodoro gets my vote. =]

Even though I got to agree with everyone that Howard's design is nice, I'm leaning more towards Scott's Kingdom of Jubal, so my vote goes there.

Gonna vote for Scott too.

Although I really wanted to see more actually stronk Visigothic Empires, like in Noblesse Oblige's Hispania (Except not renamed to Hispania because Visigoth is a cooler word guise) *feelsbadman*

scape 4 me
