well, i think the big difference in this thread and the poll is that in the thread, people tend to get a civ to win, whereas in the poll, maybe they vote more honestly for a stronger civ...

i would say this thread reflect much about the more fun to play civ...

2nd time to vote. Both civs have very useful combo of UA/UU/UB, but I give the edge to siam.

Here's my rationale:

1. Wat > mud pyramid b/c it's a significant improvement on a building that you would have built anyway.
2. ramkhakaphant > mandekalu
3. UA for songhai is better, but it is only useful on map spawning lots of rivals nearby (as in you can reach them before astronomy). Siam's UA is useful in any scenario and can help you leverage your other mid-game advantages into an insurmountable lead late-game.

In my opinon, you play a civ better if they're fun. I've never really found Persia fun, their UA is boring.

Huh? Their UA is great no matter how you play: If you're a pacifist then you get more/better golden ages, if you're a warmonger you get +1 moves and +10% CP during the GA's.
