Major Events Thus Far:

The Reirven-Jutt War
The Swahili-Abbeillean War
The Reirven-Swahili War

To Reirven Glory!

It was the great and holy city of Raloon where the Goddess first spoke to her children. The Oracle of Ruche had predicted the birth of a savior, and the entire Imperial court had traveled to Raloon where upon they met the Goddess's chosen, the savior that would lead them all to prosperity. Ever since, every Empress of Abeille could trace their lineage to that of the savior, the line blessed by the Goddess herself. The Great Goddess had given Raloon health and prosperity, rivaling even Imperial Ruche. Though the Eternal Empress still reigned in Ruche, each reincarnation of the Empress first came to Raloon for their coronation.

Raloon bordered another empire to the West. Dark skinned and caked in mud from their pigs, the elites of Abeille paid the pig herders no heed. Walls were built, archers were posted to the towers, and they were never spoken of again. After all, there were far more important matters to attend to.

How wrong they were....

The axes of the Swahil attacked and attacked and attacked. Brave archers and axmen desperately fought back, but the Swahil simply outnumbered them. In the end, only one battalion of archers could stay their ground, as they hoped for others to retreat.

And oh how they failed.

Had the Goddess abandoned them? Had she abandoned the line descended from Her holy savior? Perhaps this was a test, a test for the Abeillean people? Or perhaps this was a blessing, an opportunity hidden within the axes of the Swahil invaders.

Perhaps the Abeilleans in their vanity had not sought new converts, content that no other could understand their teachings, their wisdom. Perhaps this burning was what was needed. The Nativity of the Savior, the great wonder of Raloon that stood on par with any great structure of Ruche, held great treasures from years of patronage. The acolytes would never allow the pigherders to take them. In their wisdom, or perhaps greed, they took the great relics of the Goddess and fled, anywhere that might be safe from the pigherders. One woman boarded a ship to Athica and, having seen the burnings of Raloon, spoke with a new passion.

The acolyte no longer preached with a bored voice, seeking to line her own pockets from the donations of the rich. The acolyte held passion. In her journey, hunted down by Swahil troops, at any moment she felt as if she could break down and cry. Perhaps she could have handed over what she had carried, a codex made of gold. The Swahil were only interested in the gold, and initially, that was what the acolyte was worried for as well. But the more she ran, the more she relied on the codex, its words, and the meaning from the Goddess. When she arrived in Athica, she spoke passionately of the wisdom, the benevolence, and the trials of the Goddess, and knowing that she would be there for you in your darkest hour. At long last, the words of the Goddess was being heard by the ears of heathens.

And they were listening

The Reirvans....they come

The Reirvan people were a disciplined people. They were also a hostile one. And what they saw of the Jutts, they were disgusted. Filthy unwashed savages they thought. They all must be blooded! The spirits called out in anguish, and the Reirvans felt only Jutt blood could appease them.

Unfortunately, the Jutt had skills of the bow and arrow. Unarmored, these warriors would be cut down before they could even approach the city. The Reirvans determined that a siege was all that could occur, but the Jutt were clever. The Reirvan hid in the trees and hills of Jutt lands, but there was no harassment in Jutt waters. Farmers left the fields and instead worked on the boats, bringing in clams a plenty to feed the slaves building the slaves building the walls.

After the death of the first Emperor Ninjos, the second Emperor Nukos would lead the Jutt. Realizing that if the Reirvan ever took their city it would mean the end of the Jutt, Nukos declared a great fleet would be created and that the Jutt would find new lands to settle, away from the Reirvan.

These cities would be known as the Free Cities, each bound to one another against the Reirvan threat. First, Jutthaven, and then later "Nukos de Savior", the line of Nukos would reign well until the last Nukosian emperor Nikas was killed.

For it was not the unclothed warriors that the Jutt still fought. The Reirvan had mastered the iron metals, and their disciplined warriors now wore armor and held shields in their attacks. Though the axes and arrows would hold them at bay, for the first time in the centuries long siege, the Riervan were breaching the walls.

The death of Nikas led to the rise of a new Emperor Hammibras. And initially, he reigned well, a new city Irontwins being raised. But as the war went on, and the legions of Reirvan continued on, Hammibras slowly grew more and more pessimistic. A massive cohort was camped outside his walls, and every day the Free Cities lived in fear. Though Reirvan had not found them yet, it would only be a matter of time. And when a Reirvan scout eventually did find Nukos de Savior, Hammibras slumped into a great depression. The actions of the Free Cities would be for naught. None of the other cities could stand up to Reirvan. They would die, and eventually, so too would Juttenburg.

Only one option would remain for him.

Only peace.

It would be costly. Juttenhaven would immediately be surrendered, and Juttenburg would be evacuated, to be given over to Reirvan when the evacuation was completed. Upon hearing this treachery, the Emperor's Guard, the greatest archers of the Empire, turned the Emperor into a pin cushion. But it was too late. Juttenhaven already taken, and Juttenburg emptied, there was nothing remaining here to fight over.

Besides, rumor had it that this was not the end of the Empire. The death of the line of Wallace gave rise to a new general, Ivar Alexyvich. Rumor had it that he had killed a hundred Reirvans singlehandedly as the peace was announced, and then with the aid of some Blue Priestess from the North, killed the Emperor. As Juttenburg fell, Ivar declared a new Empire from Irontwins: The Holy Sovereignity of Alexeyvich, where the worship of the Eternal Goddess was mandatory. Perhaps this was some fool's dream. But his men called him the Pragmatic. Perhaps this was not the death of the Jutten people, but rather the rebirth?

Only time would tell.

In the meantime, the mighty Legions of Reirvan turned east towards a new prize. They heard that the nation they bordered, Swahil, was in a great war to the East. A perfect opportunity for the Legions...

Perhaps it was not meant to be he thought.

The commander held the whip up and cracked. Again?

He took a deep breath and sighed. Casualties were mounting. Either direction would be his death. Sighing he ran forward again at the walls. Arrows flying over his head, he did not even have the luxury of a shield.

The first arrow hit him in the shoulder. Shouting in pain, he looked over to his comrade, who soon held an Abbeillan arrow in his eye. Grimacing he marched forward, narrowly dodging another arrow. An Abbeilan axeman noticed him and motioned, a challenge to single combat. The Abbellian swung and he was able to dodge, dropping his ax. He began to run, until an arrow pierced through his calf. Screaming and shouting, he attempted to pull the arrow out until a third pucntured his back. The Abbeillan axeman had recovered his balance. The commander was screaming a retreat order. But the axe was in the air. It was too late. Perhaps the Blue women were right. Perhaps they should not have desecrated those temples. Perhaps they should not have ravaged the acolytes. But it was too late.

For him, it was far too late....

Where are we now?

Athica remains protected by the Great Wall, and until recently free from any distractions of the world. The barbarians to the east and south were kept out by the Wall of Land, and barbarians to the North and by sea were kept out by the Wall of Ice. And yet people still come to Athica. To the academy, to the docks, to the library, Athica is truly a gem of a city. The Goddess has captured the hearts of the slums, and the leaders of Athica, hoping to stave off further discontent, have declared it their only religion. But perhaps this has caused an even greater problem? Trade with fellow Goddess worshipers has begun, and word of the great war with Swahil has reached the people of Athica. Many call for Athica to pay homage and tribute to the Empress who traces Her lineage to the Goddess herself, and to even join in her defense to recapture the great holy city. The Blue Priestesses call for influence and a temple, and the easterners come ever closer to the wall...

The Empire of Abbeille has lost Raloon, but has grown to the East. Trade has begun slightly with Athica, and new converts have found their way to Ruche to fight for the Empress. Parras and Refugos to the East provide soldiers for the Empire, and though Ruche is now saved, the Empress has her eyes on recapturing Raloon. For now, fighting is still occurring in the west as the Abeilleans harass Swahil armies intending on retreating.

Mosher (Note: Zanzata fell on arya's turn)

Perhaps this war has gone on long enough. The legions of the Reirvans have already captured Zanzata, and taking Ruche is all but impossible. If we pull our soldiers west, we can likely hold off their advance, but that could risk us losing Raloon. Even worse, taking Raloon has spread a cult of the Goddess into our cities. Even Gondor cannot escape these Blue Priestesses. They call for an end to our war against the Divine Empress. How shall we respond?

Will add more stuff later, but I need to get back to work so I'll just post these for now

Arya (Note: I had to wait to give you the capital :( )

Feel free to give me vague guidelines as we continue! :D

Also totally feel free to rename anything.

This is a very very ad-hoc experiment. Perhaps in the future I may add something like how BOTWAWKI does with its challenges but for now I'm just having fun messing around in this hotseat experiment. This is definitely the foundations I think for an interesting IOT down the line though, either in this game or the next :)

I don't know why I am not subscribed to this thread yet, better rectify this. Subbed.

Glory be to Mosher - crush Arya underneath our boot.

This remind me of a another game that used to be on NES..... oh wait that was CivIVNES by Thlayli good times man good times :)

@Tolni unfortunately yes but I'll keep you in the player reserve if one of the others lolly gags :)

Megs, lets talk peace.
