Right moment:
What I expect:
- First Look on Ashoka will reveal he has 2 personas, one is more focused on peace/religion/happiness and is linked to the Maurya
- The other persona is more focused on war and expansion and is suggested to lead Persia
Fixed.Nalanda? Are you sure that's Nalanda. Looks more like Sanchi Stupa to me.
it's Chola! https://civilization.2k.com/civ-vii/game-guide/civilizations/chola/Persia confirmed. Now for the guide
So, the mysterious palace was Chola.
The Ashoka and Chola guide were on when I've postedNothing to see yet...
Funny, my first guess was the one which I got closer to what we got.I like that you made it a generic title this time, opening up for everyone to participate on it. While I won't participate on the actual guessing, they just posted on steam:
Edit: Actually let me make a guess. The way she described about eagle look, make me think it may be the Mississippian (as I think she may be referring to those paying attention to the icon on Tecumseh first look). The other one likely another antiquity, but maybe an Exploration age game guide for one of the exploration civs already confirmed, as that would be more unexpected next (the way she mentioned one we would be able to guess make me think we would likely not guess the other one incoming).
It was hard to get good models for Chola buildings. When there were gaps, I emphasized a more Southeast Asian (rather than Persianate) architecture and more wooden materials for Chola.Yea, not sure how I feel about that. I did consider Chola as an option but all I found was Dravidian architecture heavy on stone use and not really round. I'm curious if Andrew will provide us with some background on what inspired the model. The unique building also seems to use this architecture with round towers and what I'd have considered a more eastern style.
How did you know lolWhat I expect:

I prefer to play peacefully, but if I ever decide to play an aggressive game...Ashoka World Destroyer still looks pretty fun.I was wrong in almost every regard, yet I'm still smiling. I suppose that's good for Ashoka.
Maybe we're getting the Exploration stream next week? So, why mention that Ashoka can lead Persia but then skip the last antiquity civ for the first base game exploration civ?
I see, thanks. Although I think I'm still a bit confused as to where the rotunda-like elements are from. Apart from stupas, all the ruins in southern India but also all SEA architectures seem to exclusively provide (more or less, for forts and other profane buildings) square/rectangular shapes. I like the direction though, makes them fit in better with the generic style that also has to fit other civs (presumably, I know you can't talk about that). It was hard to get good models for Chola buildings.
