At what point does it fail?

I just did a complete reinstall of my computer, and had to update to 3.19 yesterday, so here's what I did; I also have Complete, and Windows Vista. I downloaded the patch from this site. I went to the exe and Ran As Administrator, and the patch installed. Are you doing anything different from that?

I downloaded patch from this site and started it as administrator, i get to the page after the newsletter registration, i hit install and it dies

Could it be a corrupted patch installer file? This should be easy to check if you how to find its checksum.

You can just download any free program that generates the hash.

I can suggest this one as it is very small, simple to use and doesn't need to be installed (you can delete the program when you're finished).

Just point it to the patch file (using 'Browse') and it will generate the hashes for you. If there's nothing wrong with the patch file, the hashes should be the same as what I posted above.

OS is vista,

i have tried to uninstall the game and then reinstalling it then doing the patch,

the version of Civ4 Complete i have is default 317,

disc,

The file is in program files, 2k games, fraxis games Civ 4 complete then it has folders for BTS and warlords with regular Civ 4 folders.

On a side note i used to have civ 4, Warlords and BTS installed from their own discs

i just got it to work by running the version 3.17 patch then i ran the 3.19 and it worked fine. Strange, but it works fine, thanks for help

One quick thing I found out reinstalling with my new computer... I got some hangs that are more common, but ended up with a 1706 Can't find the source code type error at the end. Turns out for some reason some program left a file in my root C: drive named "program" that messed it all up. Deleted that and installed 3.19 without a hitch (manually).

Well I have downloaded the patch...go to install it, and then it disappears...I open Civ back up log on to MP and it says I need the patch???? But I just saved it and installed it.......any ideas here?

hi guys i have played bts for a long time but when i try to update to 3.19 so i can play the mod "rise of mankind 2.92"

it says the game is not found please re-install .... so i uninstall and attempt to re-install

the cd spins in the driver 100 no 1000 time and i do it again and again and the silly thing still show in the driver it says "please insert cd/dvd" and sometimes it even asks me if
i want to format the cd . i have spent weeks trying to install the game.

so my question is can someone who has patched to 3.19 provide me with there bts folder ....would it even work like that? i am really really in need of bts game play .

Make sure to right click the update file and select,"Run and Administrator"

If that doesn't work, do what ori says.

I get the installation window and then the installation stalls (no pun intended). I've done "Run as Administrator" and the same thing happens. There's no error messages even after several minutes. Any suggestions on how I can get the patch installed?

Sometimes it is a computability issue though, I have windows 7 and have no compatibility issues. But you can just right click on the CivIV icon and go to compatibility and then click Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

You can also try other compatibility modes.

I am no expert and I am not sure if this will work. Maybe you can try to do an auto update online. Just go to options and let it auto update or you can manually find a 3.19 online.

If the above doesn't work, just right click the Civ IV icon and select run as administrator and all should be fine.
