Civ4 BTS v3.19 Patch

I have all Civ IV packs installed without a hitch in windows 7 Ult. x64. I had to disable UAC in the control panel, but you can run the game as admin if you run into issues updating.

Luck

ps. the game runs much, much smoother late game and even on huge maps. not sure if it's just mature drivers, or windows 7, but it is nice playing without lag.

Maybe this has been brought up in the previous pages, but doesn't anyone find it strange that we get the option to see what buildings you get to keep when you capture a city militarily, but don't for culturally flipped cities? You only get the option of disband the city or keep it.

Would this game work with Windows 7, because Vanilla works fine in fact better then when i had XP but BtS won't open after i install it.
It works fine for me, and I just recently installed Windows 7. Not sure why it wouldn't be working for you if Civ4 worked - perhaps something got corrupted during the install? You might want to try reinstalling.

I've noticed that too. I think it can probably be put down to an oversight - they knew that people were complaining about not being able to tell what was in a conquered city before deciding whether to keep it or not, but somehow forgot that you can acquire cities through cultural as well as military means. So they fixed one but not the other. :)

I'm not sure if there'll be another patch, so I guess the best approximation you can make is to set the game to autosave every turn - that way if a city comes up for cultural conversion, you can take it and examine it, then reload if you decide you don't want it. Unfortunately there's no better way unless you can figure out some way to change that part of the game code - and I'd rather you than me in that case. ;)

I put this into BULL a little ways back, and it'll be into the upcoming 1.1 release.

I just installed 3.19 and in three games the constant has been that the world declares war on me as soon as we meet. No aggressiveness or always war settings on, of course. Doesn't matter if I have an army or not, or Friendly relations + Open Borders: always war. In my last game, the mongols were being beaten to death, so demanded the Apostolic to stop war against them. The bill was passed. And guess what? 10 turns later they declare war again.

I like more peaceful games. If this change has been made to make the game tougher, it has only made it boring. For me, at least.

This started happening to me when I moved up to Emperor until I learned to be more discerning when picking trading partners. Build up your power (units, barracks, walls?, population?, land?) as well to keep from being dogpiled.

what do i do after i download the patch
ive tried a bunch of times and have encountered numerous problems trying to download this patch
where can i get it and what do i do
do i have to manually insert it into the files or does it do that by itself

Any way to patch this to 3.19 if we got BTS from D2D?

Their download mirror is epic fail and "initializes download" and starts "preparing your download" and then never does jack :mad::mad::mad:.

edit - GOOD NEWS: somehow or other it worked, the installer said I have 3.19 - now to install LoR and see if that works!

Hi all, i have just installed the patch 3.19 on my pc (with windows 7). I wanted to open it without CD (that was the idea behind it) but it doesn't open. Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks!!!

First i had CIV4, the original cd. After that i installed the latest complete edition.
it does start with the cd in the drive.

How do i know that i have installed the patch with admin rights?

thanks already for your reply!!! :)

is this the cd/dvd version of the game?
does it start with the cd in the drive?
did you install the patch with admin rights?

Welcome to the posting side :band:

Anyone got a definitive solution to the situation where the installer just quits after the registration?

None of the other official patches work- nonsense about BtS not being installed. I imagine it may be because I have all the Civ4 stuff installed to a different partition and have since reinstalled my OS, but it's galling that the patcher quits instead of prompting you to tell it where the game is installed.

Failing that, has anyone identified what registry key it looks for so I can add it manually?

I'm having the same problem as Queex. Whether I go through the in-game "update" option or manually download and run the patch, it just seems to quit after the patch is downloaded, without installing. Any tips?

P.S. I'm the only person with admin rights on my computer, so that's not the issue. I have Vista.

Edit: Also, my copy of the game came on DVD, and I don't play BTS with the disc in my machine.

save the patch, instead of running it, to your desktop so you can install it manually. :)

Nope, as I said, even when I download the patch manually and then run it, the installer still shuts down for no apparent reason right after I pass the "do you want to register this product with Firaxis" screen and click "Install".
