Civ4 Temporary Leave Announcement Thread

Congratulations on getting a job. That is good it will boost your income, well being and CV credentials for later.

Meanwhile where appropriate I will try to help you drop from a few of your games. :mischief:

Thanks and harr di harr. :p

I might move to Vienna during the semester to cut down on travel time. If I didn't have to spend two hours a day minimum in a train that would surely give me a bigger window to play in.

I'm not sure if this really qualifies as 'temporary', but in addition to my studies I also have a job now, and it's not exactly one where I can squeeze in some turns during work as it's outdoors, so definitely expect a sharp decrease in my activity for the next few... uh... months? As much as it pains me, I suppose I might even have to drop from a few of my games.

Congrats' man! First (real) job ever! :hammer: The outdoor nature of the job puzzles me, though ... what can history major do outdoors, excavate for Roman sculls and coins?

Basically I'm something between a beggar and a human spambot, randomly talking to people on the streets to convince them to donate to this or that charity.

Good luck with it! :)

Life isn't only about Civ, so all the best! Maybe this will take your mind of some folly nuclear adventures! :p

Ow. Ow. Ow. Everything hurts. A day spent sitting in some lecture hall seems downright paradisical now.

I hope it is done for a noble cause at least. ..

hi guys!
I am going on holiday from Nov 14th until the 24th.
Apologies in advance for any delays in my turns!

On vacation to Disney World with the family. Leaving 11/29, returning 12/8. Also Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I will be packing and going to bed early on Friday 11/28. Laptop is up in the house and I will keep on top of as many turns as I can until I leave, but once I'm gone, no civ for me until I return.

I will prioritize turns in the order they were received when I return. Sorry for the delays everyone!

Don't be silly, the year doesn't have 29 months.

I know ... silly Americans getting their dates all mucked up.

For the rest of the world 9/11 is 9th day in November.

Days, Months, Years NOT Months, Days, Years.

Laughingly, they still use English measures too, e.g. Gallons, Inches, Feet, Yards, Miles, etc. ; so much for independence from the colonial ties. Sheesh I even think, good old England has started conversion to the metric system.

Get with the rest of the world!

AMEN brothers!

We are the buttheads of the world when it comes to such things.
+ any of us that want to build/fix/modify anything, we have to have 2 sets of tools... how stupid is that?

At least for those of that served time (in the military) we know the correct/logical/smart ways to communicate such important data.

I'm back! Its 12/8/14 to me! haha...

Will be getting through turns as quickly as possible while trying to play catch up with work and taking care of a sickly wife (just the flu, no worries)... all games I'm in should be moving again soon either today or tomorrow.

I'm guessing everyone will be less available over the next week or so.

Just a heads up, my computer is overheating like all the time since some weeks ago and at times it doesn't even last half an hour before shutting itself off. I'm desperately working on a solution but don't know how soon I can fix this. I'm even thinking of getting a new computer or maybe laptop as this piece of junk has some years under its buckle already. I wouldn't count on me getting any turns done for now unless they are really short.

Sounds like the(a) fan has quit working, I'd open the side and sweep it all out and blow a house fan on it
