Marvel’s Midnight Suns review: When Marvel met XCOM - Technobubble Gaming
Marvel’s Midnight Suns from Firaxis is a worthy entry to the tactical RPG genre.

They're very, very different games.AH, they're NOT the same type of games? Midnight Sun was made by the same team of Xcom and you can basically define Xcom with superheroes.....
so I'll stop now before the absurdity gets the better of me.
Will install Civ7 and they will remove every other feature on my desktop. I think it's part of that new "Crisis" system?![]()
Don’t worry. Not only have I preordered, I’m liable to take a few days off of work too![]()
Xcom with superheros was the problem It seems not many Xcom players were interested in that.AH, they're NOT the same type of games? Midnight Sun was made by the same team of Xcom and you can basically define Xcom with superheroes.....
I already removed the game from my Steam Wishlist. Hopefully if they see a sudden drop in Wish-listing of the game after this announcement, perhaps it will force a change. To be fair to Firaxis, I feel certain this move is coming from 2K....one of the crappier publishers currently out there (barely beaten out by EA or Ubisoft). There needs to be strong pushback against this. Customer campaigns have convinced developers to abandon DRM like Denuvo before, and we should do the same for Civ VII. We know Firaxis reads these forums; let’s make this post so visible that they can’t help but notice.
I don’t care if this is coming from their corporate overlords. Firaxis needs to go to bat for its fans on this one.
I know you're probably being sarcastic but.....are you new here?Oh 2K, you shouldn't be doing something bad to your customers... I am so disappointed.
Hey Dale. Can I just say......I LOVE Old World."They" refers to denuvo.
Sorry, what's this about "microtransactions including the fog of war tiles"?!?!the blatant microtransactions including the fog of war tiles ROFL now you are getting punished for purchasing the game.

Oh FFS. Seriously, the sooner Firaxis breaks ties with 2K and either self-publishes or at least move to a more consumer-friendly publisher, the better for everyone.
- Founders Content Pack, which includes:
- 2 leader personas
- 4 profile customizations
- 1 fog of war tile set
- 1 Founders palace skin

FYI, you can quote multiple things in one post by clicking the "+Quote" button in the lower-right of a post, and then "Insert Quotes" below the reply box (as I did here). Multiple short replies in quick succession can be considered spam, as it's a common technique used by those seeking to reach the top of the Post Count list.Sorry, what's this about "microtransactions including the fog of war tiles"?!?!
They are the ones that charged full price for the massively inferior GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition-and took the cheaper, superior version out of the online store to force people to purchase the downgrade. They are the publisher that are behind the near full-price port (not update, remaster or remake) of the original Red Dead Redemption. They are the publisher that utterly botched the marketing of Marvels Midnight Sun and they are the publisher behind the annual basketball games that are massively overpriced, and chockfull of microtransactions and un-skippable in-game adverts. Oh, and they're notorious for issuing take-downs of YouTube content relating to the games they publish-regardless of if they meet "fair use" criteria.FYI, you can quote multiple things in one post by clicking the "+Quote" button in the lower-right of a post, and then "Insert Quotes" below the reply box (as I did here). "microtransactions" is a hyperbole. There's an alternative fog-of-war graphic that's part of... the Founder's Edition? Or is it the Deluxe Edition? Or as a pre-order bonus? At any rate, it's part of something that isn't the base game. But there are no indications that there's going to be in-game microtransactions like in some of the casual free-to-play games that have given "microtransactions" a bad reputation.
It would be awesome if someone like Hooded Horse were the publisher. I don't buy enough 2K games to know their general tendencies (pretty much only Civ, really), but they're definitely one of the big-suit publishers.
They're really getting competitive with Electronic Arts for most hateable gaming company business practices. They are the ones that charged full price for the massively inferior GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition-and took the cheaper, superior version out of the online store to force people to purchase the downgrade. I only want to mention it was really classy to wait only ~9 days after preorders became available to attach this information.
Belief that execs are always doing well-researched decisions... well, naive. They often follow trends with a little to no long-term concerns. Heck, somebody at 2K can even have ties with a company that creates Denuvo or there are indirect profits we don't know about.
This trend is bad for consumers. Not only it hits the performance (no matter how much or little) and after all, consumers are the one who pay for this great feature.
We already know that multiplayer has issues with performance (puny amount of players). Looking forward to confirmation about single player's standard amount of players.
