i dont use police state,beacary(labour)caste system ,enviromentalism,organised religion,pasafistism

I haven't used Pacifism so far. The 1 gold cost per unit is just too much versus the 100% GP growth rate. Environmentalism has limited appeal also.

Caste system is great for GP farms, org. religion is a must of you have a state religion and slavery.

I'll wind up using all of them except environmentalism, depending on how I'm playing.

I never used environmentalism, pacifism(I always play with either theocracy or organized religion),police state.

I don't think I've ever used Environmentalism.

All the others, I've used quite often.

I don't change much, unless I'm playing a spiritual civ. If you've read the cuban isolationists SG, you can see the power of flip-flopping your civics as needed.

Sulla and Sirian's games showed me more about the game than any manual :)

Enviromentalism. I don't think I've used Vassalage and Theocracy in games where I wasn't spiritual.

Serfdom is top of the list of civics I never use, and is also one which I can never see being useful. By the time it's available the vast majority of improvements have already been built, and you can't use slavery with it. Mercantilism I very rarely use, but I can at least see situations where it could be worth having.

i almost never use serfdom and environmentalism.

environmentalism and police state.
I never see the point of police state even during war. Neither of those is ever the best option available.

Environmentalism and Nationhood.

Police State is killer for warmongering.
Serfdom is great for saving costs on workers, if you don't need the specialists from Caste System or the pop rushing from Slavery.
And pacifism is amazing if you're a philosophical civilization, and/or you have the parthenon, and/or you have lots of excess food.

Seriously -- have people been finding good uses for nationhood? I'm actually kind of surprised I'm the first to mention it. Maybe I'm missing something.

I've used all the civics at some point, but I really don't like Police State that much, nor Free Religion and it is a very special moment if I both with Caste System. They have their uses to be sure, but just aren't as useful as the other options to my way of thinking.

Police State comes at a time when I'd be happier buying alot of my units with gold and getting the +1 hammer from my towns. Free Religion just doesn't swing thing as I find Pacifism, Theology and Organised Religion far too useful and also my religion also ties me diplomatically to other nations.

Environmentalism is the one that I have used the least.

Nationhood is THE killer civic for building a huge army in the industrial age, especially combined with Globe Theatre.
The main advantage of Police State isn't the unit bonus (which can be great in and of itself), but the reduced war weariness.

When the proverbial something hits the fan, Nationhood is great for drumming up defenders. This is particularly true of multiplayer games (5 vs 5 Ren) when it is possible to get swamped by an invasion and you're doing everything you can to survive. It is one of those civics best accessed by Spiritual civs as you can switch instantly to it in an emergency - so it is an extension of that wonderful trait.

Enviromentalism, Nationhood, Free Religion, and Pacifism.

Unless I'm playing a spiritual civ, I don't bother with Police State either.

never used mercantilism, caste system or slavery (unless im in a deseperate war)
