"I don't know what type of game you are playing, but we need to know your intentions. I am authorized to extend a hand of peace. However, we are more than capable of defending ourselves.
You are getting close to entering our space. Make your intentions known."
"Actually,
you are entering
our space, so I could ask the same of you. Unless you picked up your scanners in a garbage bin you should have long determined that none of our ships have offensive capabilities, so even if we wanted to hurt you we would be unable to do so.
You are not the boss of me, you arrogant snob. In case you haven't noticed, the PDE has kinda stopped existing, which means we don't have to take orders from anyone, least of all a stuck up slimebag like you. Now why don't y'all just bugger home or let someone who actually knows what he's doing take over the comlink?"
OOC Notes on lore:
The PDE (People's Democracy of Earth) is the former interstellar government and master of all colonies. Now that it is gone with the mysterious disappearance of Earth and the local garrisons have set course for the stars to check up on it, taking all the advanced equipment with them, every former colony has to fend for itself. New Earth was the first colony founded and since most of their higher ups, including the faction leader Hector Alvarez, have been flown in from Earth herself rather than being born locally they have always been the most loyal to the PDE. Hence they have always been treated well, were considered the crown jewel of the PDE's colonial empire and were often the first to receive access to new technologies and luxuries.
The Forge meanwhile, while is also has been around for a while, indeed it was the second colony founded, had a more pragmatic relationship with Earth. Its sole purposes were mining resources and providing heavy industry, sending most of their produce home in exchange for food and the odd luxury. Here Earth is seen more as exploiter of the locals' hard work, and not many people miss the PDE now that they can finally utilize their industry to better their own lives rather than serve a far away master.
Since New Earth sees itself as rightful successor to Earth and thus new master of the other colonies and the Forge would like to keep their newfound independence, it is obvious that tensions are abound. The only faction who dislikes (New) Earth more is the Brotherhood, since they are the rebels from a penal colony for political prisoners. AstroTech hates everyone equally and Halis is isolationist, the Red Syndicate can be your best friend provided you have deep enough pockets (they are gold-diggers is what I'm saying) while the Avowers of Knowledge only want to research and explore in peace indifferent to the political climate and Paradise is the most diplomatic.
If we go by lore you would (peace-)vassalize the Avowers and maybe the Red Syndicate too, maintain neutral to friendly relations with Paradise, view the Brotherhood as rebel scum and your worst enemy, be indifferent about Halis, and be either neutral or hostile towards the Forge and AstroTech depending on how much their conquests affect you.
