pre-release info Civilization VII - Gameplay Trailer/Showcase - Wonders & Buildings

pre-release info
Hi. I just made an account here to say that (maybe) I've found a building that kinda matches this one: Propylaea of Xerxes, in Persepolis, built by the Achaemenid Empire. You can see the lamassus in the façade, and in the interior you can see the top of Persian columns, that have two heads of bulls. Maybe it's not that exact building, but it definetly looks Achaemenid to me.
Amazing! Great catch!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this might be better known as the Gate of All Nations

This looks a lot like the Pairidaeza in Civ6. Maybe it's a wonder, idk

Probably a Persian Unique Improvement
I could be wrong, but doesn't the UI occupies "one slot" of an urban tile?

But maybe it's the same thing that happens in Egypt, when you build a Mastaba and a Mortuary Temple in the same tile, and then you get a Necropolis (and maybe the same thing happens with Rome, when you build a Temple of Jupiter and a Basilica and you get a Forum?)

This wonder might be not that clear but you can tell several white stupas have been placed around, that gives you a sign this wonder has connection with Tibetan Buddism. As a Chinese I can tell he bottom right one should be the Mongolian temple which is called 光显寺 in Chinese or Erdene Zuu Monastery in English, located in Kharkhorin, the oldest Tibetan Buddist Temple in Mongolia. Here's a photo I've searched from Mongolian webside:

I spotted just a small part of the wonder with a closer look, and it seems that you're right indeed! It does look just like Erdene Zuu!

Unique buildings take up a slot in a district, just like regular buildings, but Unique improvements are like regular improvements. They take up a whole rural district.

Not sure if this (taken from the Nintendo direct) is actually news:
Apparently, Lighthouses can be built on land now.

And the Persian unique improvement, which looks different from the previous one we've seen. So maybe it is also two unique buildings, one of which is this Pairidaeza:
A look at the full Baray:

I think that unique improvement is actually a Khmer Baray, we’ve seen a more detailed version of that same improvement in the lower right of this shot.

Yeah, that makes much more sense, I was wondering why it looked so Non-Persian. The city looks very Age 2 mediterranean though, so I wonder how a Khmer improvement comes into it. Either world builder nonsense or maybe we can finally keep foreign uniques in our cities when conquered.

I would hope the requirement would be on a tile adjacent to water at least.

I wouldn't rule out that the lighthouse was just misplaced with the dev tools. It still having the rock foundation and no decorations in the building footprint around it is rather odd. The Switch trailer had many instances of mismatched art, so I'd take that footage with a grain of salt.

Thanks. I used the list Ursa Ryan made of wonders that he saw in the Civilopedia, then I tried to find each wonder in the release video. They are:
  • Colosseum
  • Colossus
  • Dur-Shakurrin
  • Emille Bell (Bell of King Seongdeok)
  • Great Stele
  • Ha'amonga 'a Maui
  • Hanging Gardens
  • Mausoleum of Theodoric
  • Nalanda
  • Petra
  • Pyramids (sic) of the Sun
  • Pyramids
  • Sanchi Stupa
  • Terracotta Army

So far, I think these ones are the wonders present in the video. Emille Bell and the Pyramid of the Sun were mentioned by Ursa Ryan, while Serpent Mound is the wonder associated with the Shawnee.
In the list we have 41 wonders (plus that of the Chinese Wall are 42). Taking into account that each civilization has an associated wonder. That means that this list can be used to discover potential civilizations present in the base game.

Ancient age: (about 13 civilizations) (Emile Bell can be an Antique or Exploration Wonder)
1. Colosseum: Rome
2. Colosuss: Greece
3. Delphi (Pythia) Oracle: Greece
4. Gate of All Nations: Persia (Aquemenide)
5. Great Stele: Aksum.
6. Hanging Gardens: Babylon.
7. Mausoleum of Theodoric: Goths
8. Mundo Perdido: Maya.
9. Pyramids: Egypt
10. Dur-Sharrukun: Assyria
11. Petra: Nabataean (Ancient Arabia)
12. Nalanda: Ancient India
13. Sanchi Stupa: Maurya (Ancient India)
14. Terracotta Army: China (Quin?)
15. China Wall: China (Quin?)
16. Emile Bell: Korea (Antique Wonder?)

Exploration age (about 16 civilizations, if we consider te posibility that there will only be one civilization for India and another for China in this age) (And with the Shawnee DLC) (Emile Bell can be an Antique or Exploration Wonder)

1. Angkor Wat: Jemer
2. Borobudur: Indonesia
3. Tomb of Askia: Songhai
4. Cahokia: Mississippian Culture (Native American)
5. Daming Palace: China (Tang?) (There is debate about whether this wonder or another).
6. Forbidden City: China (Ming?).
7. El Escorial: Spain/Castile (Austrias?)
8. Erdene Zuu Monasterly: Mongolia.
9. Dogo Onsen: Japon (Kamakura?)
10. Ha’Amonga ‘A Maui: Polynesia
11. Machu Picchu: Inca
12. Notre Dame Cathedral: France (Valois?)
13. Briadisvara Temple: Chola
14. Tower of London: Normans
15. Emile Bell: Korea (Exploration Wonder?)
16. Pyramid of the Sun: Aztecs? / Teotihuacan
17. Serpent Mound: Shawnee

Modern Age (9 civilizations)

1. Brandenburg Gate: Germany
2. Eiffel Tower: French empire
3. Hermitage: Russia
4. Kasubi Tombs: Buganda
5. Oxford University: Great Britain
6. Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico
7. Summer Palace: China (Popular Republic)
8. Statue of Liberty: USA.
9. Red Fort: Mughal
10. Taj Mahal: Mughal

It seems there are wonders that have not yet been shown and that they can give more clues about which civilizations can be in the game. Since, although the presence of a wonder does not guarantee that the associated civilization appears, if it seems that it will be necessary for each civilization to have at least one associated wonder.
