CivIVNES

For the record I rather like "Lydratheen" or "Lydratian"
Spoiler :
EXPANSION
The Emperor of the Thousand Clans will set out his plan to have his domains expanded, achieving this expansion by allowing the Princes of the Clans to compete amongst themselves to achieve renown and prestige by claiming new lands, etc, etc. The largest of any townships or cities founded by the Princes of the Clans would likely be south along the river. In addition to these measures, fleet-footed scouts and runners will be dispatched to the east in order to make contact with a village of tribal peoples we believe exists in those lands. They will attempt to convince them of the benefits of joining with the Thousand Clans.

Spoiler Backstory :
The local tribes around Lake of the Pines were finally united after centuries of sedentary behavior under the rule of the Chief Oswynn, a young, ambitious, and svelt leader, who led the Cliftonlings. Oswynn was able to conquer the weak tribes, ally with the amicable tribes, and subjugate the fearful tribes, to establish an uncontested rule over all of the peoples of the Pinewood. To celebrate his hegemony over the tribes, Oswynn declared himself the first King of Clifton, after his seat of government.

Oswynn, after coronation, would be known for forcing the other tribes, such as the Northpines, Easterlakelings, and the Fieldlings into Clifton, creating a cosmopolitan environment, and which would lead to the decline of the tribes and the rise of a centralized Cliftonling state. Oswynn was ruthless in eliminating his rivals through intrigue, further solidifying his rule. Oswynn used his power to establish official fishermen to harvest the cloams offshotre and organized farmers to till the ryse fields to Clifton's southeast.

Oswynn and his successors knew as the most powerful state in the Oakenwood, they could expand without fear of attack, since all the peoples in the Oakenwood recognized the Kings of House Afton--Oswynn's royal house--as their lieges.

Oswynn's marriage to Lady Adelaide produce two sons and two daughters. The sons, Baldwynn and Callom were fiercely competitive while the two daughters, Hylda and Godgifa, were respected members of the royal family as sewers of masterful tapestries and cloths. Baldwynn, the older of the two, possessed a prodigious mind for innovation while Callom was trained for marshal duty and combat by Oswynn's own marshal, Columba Bates. After Oswynn's death after a fruitful 20 year reign, Baldwynn ascended to the Throne of Cholk, a brittle rock mind far to the east of Clifton, with Callom as his heir apparent. But Callom's kingly ambitions were twarted when King Baldwynn had twin sons, Baldwynn and Owynn.

Spoiler :
Development: Clifton is a growing city, henceforth the farming of clams and rice will the top priority set forth by the King. Moreover, the Cliftonlings consider the Pinewood their sacred home and do not venture far from it nor cut much wood from it.

Weshanka.

Spoiler :
Development - Waritanta, the legendary First Sovereign of Weshanka, is said to have founded the capital of Shirun and developed the first principles of city planning in the process. He did not seek to conquer sparsely-populated lands further afield, though, being a more peaceable ruler. He bade the sedentary farmers who settled in and around Shirun to trade and coexist with the animal-herding nomads who had also acknowledged him as their ruler, and taught his people to build roads - among other, more fanciful accomplishments.

The Nadan river has always been the source of life for the Gardians. So much infact that the entire population lived along its banks and is it grew the people continued to settle further into the south, next to the banks. But the river was only one major location for the Gardians.

The Salak lake to the north was important as well, as around it lived the giant beasts. Gardians hunted these beasts for meat, but also for their precious tusks, that were used in all sorts of mystical enchantments created by the Shamans.

But the Gardians were not all about religion, and not about settling further and further south. The ruler of the city state was simple, he wanted more power and so he sent his people to work harder to develop their nation.

Spoiler :
Taoron seeks expansion by any means necessary to accomplish it currently.

Spoiler :
Spirit: The age of wandering is over. In a land buffeted by frost and foreboding forest, God himself has bestowed upon his chosen people the means not only to survive but thrive.

Paine, our City on a Hill, named both for our prophet and our sacrifice, will be the locus of our faithful dedication. Our hands will through God make the soil productive.

In summary, farm the corn.

That is some exposition, though I don't know what Spirit really implies :p

Targani Origin
Spoiler :
The Targani tribes had been through many infighting in the past. The many clans would fight over the scarce resources in their lands. This disunity continue or many years until a great man by the name Jarken rose to power. He subdue the many waring tribe through a show of skillful military strategics. Some historians would said that by far in Targani history their was never such a brilliant military leader.

Order
Spoiler :
Development: Grand Chief Jarken did not sought to expand his tribes lands for the fact that that tribes lands were undeveloped and needed improvements so that the people of Dorjin can survive. He saw that around the village he spotted near the hill had valuable resources that could help the village grow. Jarken first priority was to feeding his people so he was look toward the having a group of farmer to help in domesticated the sheep and farm wheat near Dorjin.

please add me to the roster once someone gets inactive.

Thank you for the quick response! I only require orders from NK (he sent via pcmw), Iggy, CD, and Nuka in order to update tonight.

I haven't figured out the flying camera yet, but the next series of screenshots will be much more immersive.

Working off of the precedent of Allemagne and Allemand, I believe Abeilland would make more grammatical sense than Abeillard from my understanding of French. If you could edit that, that would be great.

Also, can we describe what we want our nation to do besides just what focus we want? It seems a little limited what we can order this turn otherwise.

As a passable speaker of French, je peux vous rassurer that Abeillard is a correct ethnonym. One analogue would be Montagne -> Montagnard. Of course, it's still your nation and I'll change it if you like.

You can! As I said you can set general priorities within your focus; you just can't micromanage every unit that gets built. Feel free to edit your orders to that effect.

Spoiler :
The first Jaeger of Hauldrichten, Pronzen, was a highly capable man that led the Hauldricht well, however the ambition and the lust for power, land, and glory of the men of the tribe would not permit them to simply take Pronzen's authority. Pronzen was the best hunter, the best fighter of Hauldrichten, and earned his right to claim rulership over it. And for those who were weak, those who needed protection, they would stay in Hauldrichten. But the men? The ones who wanted not to live by handouts, but by their own conquests? There was only one choice. They would find their own lands. They would become their own Jaegers.

Spoiler :
Expansion

I won't have wifi for the next five days aka 3 updates. Someone can take over civoria until something something bye.

Update Two - Dawnset

The dreams of many are complicated as new actors step onto the stage. The world changes faster than many are ready for it to change, and as bold leaders are caught off balance, blood may be spilt, or perhaps exchanges less violent made. Regardless, the world turns and the sun also rises, but chieftains and warlords cannot predict what colors it may bring.

---

Omega/Abeille

The people of Abeille gain a clearer understanding of their surroundings. The trees extend for some distance up and down the coasts, but seem to peter out further inland, where great plains sweep to the horizon. Some have begun to worship a crude pantheon consisting of a god of nature, a goddess of the sea and their children.

Spoiler The Surround :
gDndBdK.jpg

---

Iggy/Ak’Nakal

The people of Ak’Nakal learn from a local tribe that to the northeast is an awe-inspiring mountain range whose peaks reach up to the heavens themselves. Beyond that, the legends say, is a scorching desert with great dunes of golden sand, a terrible place unfit for humans.

Spoiler The Great Desert :
5ZcJFzK.jpg

Meanwhile, the fertile land of lakes continues to the northwest, beautiful and strange with many waterfalls.

---

ChiefDesigner/Chaoyang

A long series of semi-mythical Intendants creates a stable, unchanging order for Chaoyang, during which generations of people live their short lives in peace. Contemplation of the waters is increasingly popular, and many now speak of ebb and flow as if they are supernatural powers. Will you pursue this thought further or cast it aside?

You have little interest in the outside world, as much of it is freezing cold and forbidding.

Spoiler The Celestial Lands :

---

Madviking/Clifton

The rule of House Afton has been stable and secure for Clifton. Baldwynn IX now ascends the Throne of Cholk to lead a prosperous and growing people.

To the south of Clifton along the isthmus, and across the straits, lie more of the sacred pines similar to the Pinewood. The druids of the Cliftonlings say that these lands may one day be acceptable to live in.

Spoiler The Daughter Pines :
FCJ9IYX.jpg

But to the north are arid plains and deserts, and trees that are NOT pines. Truly, that way lays madness. All are forbidden to go there. Some also speak of taming the Oliphaunts that roam the plains, but these people are also derided as mad.

Spoiler Beyond the Pale :

---

Terrance/Civoria

The Civorians continue to explore the southlands, preparing to send out a colony of the mother city, but entrenched interests demand that the lower classes be forced into slavery at home first, to secure food and crafts for the nobles.

[Nothing much changes image-wise.]

---

Erez/Gardia

The Gardians discover a great mountain range to their west, looming over the plains. So imposing are the peaks that some of the tribesmen have begun to worship them as gods.

Spoiler The Mountain Gods :
kVikOCy.jpg

Nomads from other tribes tell you the mountains end far to the north in a great salt sea. Of course, you dismiss this as a crazy tale; a body of water greater than the lake would swallow up the whole world.

But tribesmen coming from exploring the southern jungles also say that these tales may not be so wild after all…

---

<nuka>/Hauldric

The harshness of their surroundings only drives the Hauldricht to expand, and many would be-Jaegers, rivals to Pronzen and his heirs, prepare to migrate down the coastline.

Many scouts are sent out to prepare the way for the hundreds of families who will soon leave Hauldrichten. Journeying to the east, they soon make a great discovery…

Spoiler ??? :

North King/Kappanoka

An imposing band of warriors from Kappanoka arrives at a small village to their northeast, and they receive rich gifts from the village elder in return for not killing them all.

Spoiler A 'Gift' :
SMAffe2.png

Beyond the village which now gives tribute to the mighty Kappanok, there lie rich grazing lands, slightly warmer than the homeland. A spout of water from a distant blowhole along the coast awes your people, who begin to mutter about the power of the leviathans.

Spoiler The Great Fields :

And then, a discovery…

Spoiler ??? :

Lord of Elves/Lydrath

Following the will of the Emperor, his son Prince Taethius prepares to lead an expedition to follow the Lydri River south, to found a city second only to Lydrath itself in glory and honor.

Spoiler The Expedition Route :

---

Azale/Providence

The people of Providence wander the frozen wilderness with complete confidence that an anthropomorphic God that looks just like them is on their side.

Spoiler A Chilly Eden :

Suddenly, others appear, pale faced like you, but somehow…different. Will they be friends or foes? What will you do?

Spoiler :

---

Tycho/Taoron

Scouts for the Taoron explore the south, revealing mountains and plains, lands better for barbarians than the fisherfolk of the Taoron. Perhaps the northern or eastern coasts will be more promising…

Spoiler The Barbaric Lands :
Aaja1vA.jpg

---

Everblack/Targan

The tribes continue to eke out a living as they always have, occasionally uniting under a powerful Warlord. News filters through of a rich and beautiful Vale to the northwest, warm and peaceful. There is little doubt that some Targani tribes should migrate to this paradise, it is just a matter of when.

Spoiler The Treasured Vale :
TWRt306.jpg

---

das/Weshanka

The Weshanka soon realize that a great sea exists to the northeast of Shirun. The water is filled with salt and not good to drink, so the people generally decide to leave it alone.

Spoiler The Salt Sea :
3KMqIV1.jpg

To the east, there are good pasture lands and rich stalks of corn growing in the wild. Many wish to move here, but seek the protection of the All-Sovereign to do so.

Meanwhile, your warriors strive with and overcome terrible beasts in the newly-discovered southern jungles.

Spoiler A Legend is Born :

---

Well, that was pretty fast turnover! I apologize for two things. I apologize to terrance for not giving him any screenshots, but nothing much has changed in his corner of the world. I promise to give him a bonus screenshot next turn.

And, I apologize to Iggy for updating without receiving his orders. There weren't many major decisions to make this turn anyways, so I just focused you into Development. I can't wait to promptly incorporate your orders next time. :p Most important will be your reaction to the Kappanoka.

Order guidelines are the same as last time, with an addition: You can choose to react Passively, Aggressively, or Balanced in response to foreigners, in addition to the choice of the three focuses.

Also, I would appreciate you naming some of your major geographical features! I'd rather have good, well-thought out names though, so don't just throw stuff out there.

The new order deadline will be Friday, July 26 at 5:00 PM EST, but as before, if I get all (or almost all) of the orders before then, I will update before then. Good luck!

The first player off the reserve list that claims Civoria will get it for while terrance is away. When he comes back, they may continue to co-play it with him if they wish.

I can still post on my phone, but I won't be able to get anything creative up. Sorry. Please sub for the next few updates.

Spoiler :
EXPANSION
Stay the course with plans to found another settlement along the lines I outlined previously. Warriors should investigate the tribal camp if scouts are unable to, and found a new city along the River Lydri.

Spoiler :

DEVELOPMENT.

Once the others have left and Pronzen has passed, a man named Klaucher rose to become the new Jaeger. Recognizing that there was little incentivizing people to remain in Hauldrichten, he encouraged the development of ways to harvest the bounties of the sea and of the crops.

With foreigners, we will react BALANCED. If they dont bother us, we won't bother them. For now.
