Civup 2.3.2 and Gem 1.12.2: No resource icons on city screen

2 errors this same kind i encountered while using Civup v2.3.2 + Gem v1.12.2 + CSD v.35.

1) http://www.speedyshare.com/txkAv/Sejong-0095-BC-0500.Civ5Save - lack of yeld icons on some hexes - on city screen as well as on general map - especially nearby cities. after playing a dozen of turns things come normal again but then the second error appeared:

2) http://www.speedyshare.com/sMT5C/Sejong-0126-AD-0275.Civ5Save - in spite of having gathered enough food for increasing city population it doesn't happen. i saw that in the capital city and the one with pop = 1.

best wishes :*

I enabled (set = 1) the 3 lines in config, loaded the first posted savegame and played 5 or 6 turn. At the end the bug disappeared but initially it was there (no yeld icons around capital city). In meantime, during playing, I clicked several times on the icon "+" for save debug - or whatever it's called and it's made for - I just don't understand it. Here is zipped lua.log:
http://www.speedyshare.com/5aySq/Lua-of-95turn.rar

The second bug with city growth will be checked in afternoon.
Hopefully it all turns out to be helpful.

Here is my lua.log file. I followed the link you posted (how to create this lua.log file), enabled those three parameters in config.ini, however, the lua.log file does not seem to include much information in my case:

Any ideas?
Or did I miss something to produce a proper lua.log file?

I get this periodically but it almost always refreshes itself if I mouse over the city tile in the city screen map. As a workaround until the actual bug is narrowed down.

Unfortunately this is does not work in my case. The tiles in the city screen are always "empty", as can be seen in the screenshot, regardless of any mouse movement or click actions :(

@mystikx21 & haimat

Does this happen if you start a new game?

I only get this bug if I load the save game that start in CivUp 2.3.1.

I suspect that this bug is caused by this change.
Civup: Interface
The icon now shows on tiles which give happiness (natural wonders, and some opportunities).

Civ5 might cache tiles' yield icon in save file, so that it doesn't have to re-process it. But since Thal have added happiness to tiles' yield icon, the cached data is not valid anymore. And the reason that it refreshes itself after several turn is because the game has updated the tiles' yield.

Hi, I have not tried it with a new game, only with some save games that used Civup version 2.3.1. Quite frankly I had quite a good game running so I was hoping that I can continue to use it with the new Civup version :)

I am experiencing this as well. Occasionally some hexes will display yield icons, I haven't noticed any pattern to it though.

If I start a new game, everything appears to be working fine until I quit, restart the game and load the save, at which point the yield icons disappear.

Here is my lua.log:

@aries I've seen a version of this bug on and off for a while, throughout various versions of civup. I don't think the happiness change on tiles matters as a result.

@haimat If it's not refreshing no matter what (exiting city screen, changing tile production, etc), then that's a rather more serious issue.

From what you posted, it might have to do with changes to the Railroad connection bug in the capital, civup is still looking for the building but the building isn't necessary anymore as the bug is fixed another way now. You may want to check the bug thread here if you wish to produce a proper log file.

I would also say that usually updating will break save games, and its best to finish a game before updating. It sometimes won't, and there are ways you can manually update files to avoid problems. But often a new version of civup will change the file structure of the mod by adding or removing or renaming files, which won't work well.

@mystikx21: Thanks for your reply. However I just started with Civup and Gem some days ago and thus do not know much about it, or any related and know bugs. Are you aware of a workaround of the bug you mentioned?

For now it seems to me that these yield icons do not appear at all after I have loaded a savegame. I tested about 10-15 rounds, but without success :(

I can confirm haimat's diagnosis of the issue. It corresponds exactly to my own situation. The bug appears and disappears randomly - I've had it appear five times and disappear four in 100-200 or so turns. It is currently ongoing. My game was not created with CivUP 2.3.1. I am running CivUP 2.3.2 and GEM 1.12.1 via Steamworks subscriptions.

No obvious conditions cause it to "unbreak." I haven't found anything in the city or otherwise that I can click to cause the yields to re-appear. In fact, sometimes some tiles appear and others don't in a single city. It's not an all or nothing thing.

Also, my lua.log does not present any meaningful information to the issue.

haimat, if it's from a save game, then more than likely you already had railroads, and built the free connection building? I'm not sure how to get around that part.

Possibly using the tuner (in the SDK download) will allow removal of it in every civ that has one.

I can confirm that it hasn't been showing up in logs. Whenever I've seen it that is. Some of these sound more severe than what I've seen.

I'm having the same problem both in version 2.3.1 and now 2.3.2

@mystikx21: No I had no railroads in my save game, not even streets.
And BTW: I do not use any other mods then Civup and Gem.

Ahh. I was looking at it wrong. I'm pretty sure Civup/GEM uses a "trade connection" building value for lighthouses and the railroad connection. I falsely assumed it was related to the latter.

I'm not sure why it isn't finding either of those. I'm also not sure that it's related to the city tiles though either so much as possibly being another bug in your game.

Addition information:
New game started and there was no yield icons within 3 hexes from the settlers. I moved it 2 titles away and founded a city, all yield icons became visible again. Then I quitted and loaded savegame and again most yield icons on the map disappeared. After creating farm an yield icon on that title turned up.

Hi

Im experiencing the same problem with CivUP 2.3.2 and GEM 1.12.2. For the first turns of the game I could have sworn that I could see yield icons on tile in the city view but at some point they disappeared. Funny thing is that when I construct a new improvement or aquire a new tile the yield icons are shown for those tiles in the same cities.
