And for the logical argumentative side of me:
I think it's like the God of the Hebrews and Christians. In Hebrew, his name is Yavweh (pronounced YOW--[long 'A' sound]). But in English, that's translated to Jahoveh. Similarly, the Jews write God as G_d, to show respect, and never speak the word 'God' casually. And the Christians always write God.
My point bein that a difference in names is prolly due to languages.
