cMM2 - STRANDED (easy level, tough map)

Oops :blush:

so embarrased :blush: :blush:

:blush: Your right I must have read it too fast or something :blush:

Unless Doc edited his post... does it show when a post has been edited? ( I am still new and don't know for sure)

BTW: I don't really think Doc edited the post, but I am curious about a possible edit button...

Sorry for my stupid comments and questions.... as I said before "Im not as smart as Doc -- I may be wrong"

I am now going back to lurker land... :suicide:

I'm gung-go on the GL&GL idea. Why pick one when you can grab two!

I'm also thinking that maybe I used up all the sailing luck. It's probably a waste of shields to keep sending curraghs out and watch them sink. Let's wait until we have the Lighthouse. For now, we badly need infrastructure and MP.

danz: it was a good think you checked on the curagh sailing - we now KNOW we need at LEAST two consecutive turns of sail-luck. So yes, make a run (ASAP!) for the Great Lighthouse, as this MUST be unde construction somewhere else, and let's also get Great Lib.
THEN we can sail - or, I msut say, if we GET Great Lib we can sit back and wait - the later we meet the more we profit from Great Lib.

Let me clue you in on a little secret my friend, I hate Sid and I Hate Deity :) I like Emporer!!! Deity and Sid leave you with very little opportunity for alot of the fun things in the game, like researching your own techs or building wonders. :lol: The only thing Sid and Deity do for me is to assure me I'll have some tough battles to fight ;) Nope, sorry to say I'm partial to my favorite... EMPORER, BABY!!!

@cMM :thumbsup: plan

I'm out of town until Monday, please auto-skip me if my turn comes up before then

I think you'll be safe for the weekend Danz :)

Pre-Flight Check:
Luxury to 0, up research, Lit in 10. Hire a scientist in Umma.
Switch working tiles as suggested by CarlosMM.
Switch lagash and Agade to workers and Bad-tibira to archer.

(1) 800 BC - Agade, worker -> worker
(2) 775 BC - Ur, enkidu -> enkidu
(4) 730 BC - Ur, enkidu -> enkidu
- Umma, granary -> worker
- Bad-tibira, archer -> worker
(5) 710 BC - Kish, temple -> worker
(6) 690 BC - Ur, enkidu -> harbor (prebuild)
- Lagash, worker -> worker
- Umma, worker -> worker
(9) 630 BC - Kish, worker -> worker
- Kish expands border, whale now in reach.
(10) 610 BC - The Maya have been destroyed, good :).
- Lit finished -> research masonry at 20 percent due in 22.
- Uruch enkidu -> worker
- Join 1 worker to Sumer
(11) 590 BC - Umma, worker -> worker
- Agade, worker -> worker
(12) 570 BC - Join 1 worker to Ur, now at 6, lux to 10
(13) 550 BC - Kish, worker -> harbor
- Korea completes great wall.
(14) 530 BC - Bad-tibira, worker -> harbor
(15) 510 BC - Umma, worker -> harbor
- Portugal completes the temple of Artemis.
- Greek complete MoM.
(16) 490 BC - Join one last worker to Sumer
- Both Sumer and Ur are at 6 pop.
(17) 470 BC - Lagash, worker -> harbor
(20) 410 BC - Erech, worker -> worker

As suggested I tried to grow Ur and Sumer ASAP and get them at highest possible production. I hope it will be enough to grab boths GL's. If not we're pretty much ....... :eek:

well done :D

carlosMM - on deck
sabo
danz
steviejay
keiji - just played
jkp1187 - up now

If we grab ONE of the two we stand a decent chance to win. Both and we will win!

Good Job Keiji! I havn't looked at the save yet but it sounds like things are going as planned. I'll look at it when I get home from work.

can someone post a screenie for us poor working fools??

Okay, I took a quick look around and everything looks okay for now. I plan on:

1.) Upgrading that curragh as soon as that new harbor in Umma is constructed, perhaps to do a suicide run toward the south-east.

2.) Keeping Agade as a worker factory, since its in an equilibrium of growth/worker production right now.

3.) Changing production of Erech to harbor.

By popular demand, I have attached a screenshot of the home island....

) 610 BC - The Maya have been destroyed, good

Wow, that was fast. They went down in my game as wel llater. But why is that good? It'll only mean one or more other AI Civs get even stronger...

btw, there is one unsettled city spot: The hill between Umma and Kish. You're wasting a lot of coastal tiles otherwise, and you can't afford to work a hill anyway.

I was thinking the same thing Doc, "one more weak civ we can't pick on ;)"

Good point, Doc. I'll switch up either Umma or Kish to produce a settler after harbor construction is complete. Didn't get a chance to play at all last night, so I'll get in a few rounds today. Should complete my turn by tomorrow evening....have quite a few commitments today.

Yes...I don't like it either when a civ dies before I've even had a chance to meet them. Makes me a bit nervous.

So, and which AGR wonder do you count on? Universal Suffrage is the only one with a slight chance...

Ha! Pyramids! And we'll take them by FORCE! BANZAI!

:ar15:

Actually, isn't Hoover Dam an AGR, too?

Okay, I'm at 330BC. I bumped the tech rate up to 80% to get Masonry in one turn instead of 5, and now must choose the next tech to go for. I'm partial to going for The Republic, to keep commerce going, but I wanted to throw it open for discussion before I committed to it.

Otherwise, I've simply been continuing the worker operations. Nothing new to report.
