No system is perfect but I'll take the woes associated with Capitalism vs. those woes associated with Communism.

Not getting the connection with capitalism = masochists. Could you explain how you interpreted my statement that caused you to say this?

I guess you could call what I've read fiction regarding the miserable life people had in the Soviet system but I've never lived under a system like that. I have no real life experiences to use for making a judgment. All I do know is that the system I grew up in is to my liking, even though I'm neither a rich capitalist pig or living in abject poverty.

Given that no Communist society has ever existed, how would you know?

Unless, of course, you mean to suggest that Stalinism is less-than-dandy, but I don't think you'll have a hard time finding Reds who agree. It's not exactly a novel proposition.

Have I have missed something? Has there been some grand Marxist-Leninist ascendancy within the US which has simply slipped under my radar? Because, right now, you appear to be sitting comfortably to the right of any Western European state you care to name, and only a fool or a liar would describe any of them as Socialist societies.
